Default Vacation/Camping questions.

I'm going camping here at the end of the month. I don't think exercise will be an issue but food will be. What could/should I bring to eat? I'll be out there for about 4 days. I'm gonna bring some of the little 3 oz/25g protien nectar things but I'll need other stuff.

Gimme ideas!! Thanks in advance.

You could try bringing those small individual cans of tuna fish - I travel with them in my suitcase. Just make sure that your surgeon has cleared you for tuna fish (mine didn't want me to eat it too early on).

Nuts (if you can tolerate them), premade protein shakes (keep 'em in the cooler), tuna kit...

Thumbs up Camping ideas..

We just went to Palm Springs for a quick 2 nites - yes we did stay in resort vs camping in the wild ...but I still had to prepare my own little snacks to bring and boy was I glad I did. We went swimming in a lazyriver pool for several hours and came back to room famished. This was what I brought. I got package of those presliced green apples and had slices of cheese than ina little tupperware container I brought tablespoons full of peanut butter, i brought crackers ( I like the rye low sodium ones that are hardly any calories and use the whipped cream cheese - and I had it all in my little cooler with ice - and stayed good - and of course the old standby that the kids love are the string cheese. My hubby brought "costco weenies" he likes them raw - whatever... and than a package of the lunch meats from Hillshire farms as they already come in the little tupperware containers ...we get the ham and turkey and roastbeef all the time and great to roll the thin sliced meat in a piece of cheese.
We brought bananas too and slice those up. Not sure if you like shrimp -- but what if you have a little bit frozen when you bring it and bring those bamboo skewers - to put over your grill? How ruffin it are you going to be? Hiking camping or whereyou have RV or ???? I guess I should have asked that before i started with my suggestions that work for me. I am on Week 6....
As for your shake - protein - I get little pkgs and bring a shaker I got from GNC and I carry my shake with me when we are heading out and for breakfast i had the instant oatmeal pkts ...those work well for travelling you just need hot water and a bowl.

Let us know your ideas you thought of and how it all goes - Have a wonderful time!!!

I haven't tried beef jerky yet so I may have to pick some up here in a bit. I can tolerate peanuts in small ammounts. Cheese is good. good suggestions all. Keep em coming. I'll be out there for 4 days. I should be able to bring a little grill to maybe cook some turkey bacon and an egg for breakfast.

Edit: PEANUT BUTTER!!! I could bring some apples and dip in the PB. great suggestion.

Ok, here's my list so far (gonna need a decent sized cooler for ice to keep this all cold):

4 pack of light dannon lemon yogurt
6 eggs(2 for cooking, 4 hard boiled)
Peter Pan Crunchy Peanut Butter
Some sort of cracker
Protein nectar(4 vials)
2 Apples(green or red, haven't decided)
cheese
4 strips turkey backon
couple small packs of peanuts
Beef Jerky
Tuna(if my pouch is able to handle the fish)

Thanks for the awesome suggestions. As usual, you are all life savers. This should be a great birthday
