Default Cold water?

I have been getting major abdominal cramping when I drink cold water.. has this happened to anyone else and if so does anyone know why.. or if I will ever be able to drink cold water again. This morning it actually started to happen even with room temperature water and now I think I might need to see the doctor.. I want so bad to just drink an ice cold glass of tea or water...

I experienced the same thing - it took about 6 months before I could tolerate ice water again - i cant slam it like I did before, but I dont get the stomach ache I did like right after surgery. Hopefully all you need is a little more time.

You have to remember the stomach is a muscle and the ice cold water could cause it to crap a little bit due to the fact that you are so fresh out. I had some crapping the first couple of weeks as well but went away after about a month or two.

Melissa it is nice to know I am not the only one who doesn' like water sometimes. It has to be ice cold in order for me to drink it. If it is warm I will gag. I just get this nauseated feeling if I drink alot of water.

I am 15 months out and still have to drink water at room temp. I can drink everything else cold though!

This is a frustrating part for me too. I get so thirsty sometimes that I just want to kill a glass of ice cold water, but I refrain and take a few sips and then the pain sets in and I decide I didn't need that glass full as bad as I felt I did. I just hate this part too. I love water and want to be able to drink an 8 oz glass when I'm thirsty. I hope mine eventually gets better with time too.

It has taken me almost a year to be able to drink cold water. In the beginning it felt like sand paper in my stomach. I had to drink it with crystal lite or something in it. Now it's plain ole cold water.

Default Satisfy the Cold Craving

I can't even do two sips of water plain yet. (Tried with my meds - no fun)

But, when I'm really stinkin' hot, I've been making very watery iced coffee. I fill the huge cup with ice, add cooled off decaf, splenda and I add a little skim milk. I admit, it is mostly water, but with just a bit of flavor, Gretta seems to like it and I think it is a huge treat! Oh - I just realized I have a glass sitting here next to me...

I still can only get three swallows in at a time though.

You'll find something, I'm sure.

Try putting "True Lime" in the water.
