Default Back from Vegas...2-1/2 weeks out!

Well.. hello all. I stepped on the scale the minute I got home to find out how all the walking I did in Vegas helped me along with the swimming I have been doing to only see that I am 1 pound HEAVIER! WHAT THE @$$@$# BLEEEEEEEEEEEEP? UGH. I know I am probably losing inches, but seriously, come ON!! I lost 21 pounds my first 10 days post op and then it just stopped and now NOTHING.

How long is this going to last for?

Julee...Dont Fret!! It was HOT in Vegas...you are probably just retaining water. It's normal, STAY OFF THE SCALE...for awhile. The same thing happened to me...the "plateau" in the first month. I am now down 75lbs. in less then 5 months...it WILL happen for you.

Welcome back Julee! Hope you had fun. Don't worry about the weight. I lost 30 lbs in two weeks post-op and then for the next two weeks I only lost 2 lbs., but now at almost 7 weeks I have lost a total of 43.5, so it will start back. Just sit back and relax. Don't think about it every day, it will drive you nuts. This was one of the things my drs. handbook warned against was anxiety from being impatient for results. It WILL happen. Just give your body time to realize it's okay to let go of some of the weight. Right now it's clinging to everything for dear life because you are shocking your system. It's just nature's way of taking care of us.

Julee don't panic it happens. It doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong. Stick to your program. There is a lot going on in your body right now and I am sure that plus the heat doesn't help. Get plenty of water in. When you least expect it that scale will shock you.

Thanks.. Yeah, I also wonder if I am losing inches too. Probably huh? What I worry is that I am not getting enough in in a day. How the heck do we count our proteins? I am not sure on this and do not know if I am even getting in 50 grams a day. I meet with my doctor on Thursday so I am sure they will explain too. How do you all do it?

i just divide the total amt of protein by how many ounces i am actually eating.
for example:
small wendys chilli is 220g of food and it has 17g of protein
220g of food is 7.7 ounces so in each ounce there is 2.2g of protein. if i can eat 2 oz of chilli i am getting 4.4g of protein.

it really makes you think about your food

i also eat protein bars.

as for the plateu.. i am a little over 4 months out. i've lost 92 lbs since the 2 weeks before surgery.. but it doesn't seem like it! i don't know when i lost the majority of my weight because it seems to me that ever since surgery.. i only loose 1-2 weeks a month.. the rest i just maintain. it is a little odd but during the time i am maintaining i am still loosing inches because ive gone from a 11/12 this month to a 9/10 and i havent lost anything since the first week of july.

your body will start loosing again soon. this surgery works.. and i know it can be frustrating but you just have to hold on.
