My Wow Moment:
When I was hooking the DVD in our room...my hubbie was lying on the bed watching...meaning...doing the male assistant job. LOL!! Out of no where he comments..."Honey, I think half of your hips fell off...they look a LOT smaller!" WOOOHOOOO!!!
I was shocked, then looked in the mirror and couldn't see it, but figure that's normal. Huh. Since my hips are ginormous and my waist is tiny...(I have the hour glass figure from hell), I guess I just don't see these things. I still see a MO woman fixing a DVD. HUH?!
And yes, I was hooking up the DVD. Husband is technically challenged and can't possible program a DVD, VCR, or REMOTE control. When it comes to electronics..it's all me! We like Role reversal.

That I can totally relate. When I program wrong than he can really blame me...
Last week I stopped at KMart and was checking out the clearance racks. I picked up an XL dress thinking if it didn't fit either I could hold on to it or return it after all for $7.00 no big loss. I came home and IT FIT ! My WOW moment !

I went to Banana Republic yesterday and could actually fit into their size 14 capri's and slacks! Just to make sure it wasn't a fluke I went to BCBG's and tried on a suit and could actually fit into a size 14 there too!!
Jeans are still a problem though...I can't get into anything smaller than a 16 but Oh well....I was an 18 when I graduated from high school and I don't ever remember wearing anything smaller than that!!!

I bumped into a guy that I had not seen since before surgery and he actually looked at me and then asked one of my friends who I was.........wow!!!!!! then when he relized it was me , he picked me up and spun me around in the air.....that is the first time a guy has ever done that to me...granted he is pretty musculer but still , it felt awesome.

I have to share another wow moment. This weekend I went to a black party held by my old company. I haven't seen the people I used to work with in almost a year and a half. So many of them didn't recognize me, or had to do complete double takes. It was such a huge stroke to my ego to hear the compliments. Even now thinking back on it makes me grin. I'm going to try to get my old job back now too.

Last weekend I went to a concert of a band that a friend of mine is in. I bought a 2x t-shirt thinking that I would be able to wear it someday. When I got home I found that it actually fit! I even wore it to work. I like lose fitting cloths so I still wear my baggy 3x stuff all the time but now I will start buying 2x since it's finally feeling too baggy.

I don't know if it's true for everyone, but even though I've lost quite a bit of weight, I can't really tell a lot of the time, especially in mirrors. Well, this weekend I had 3 wow moments that made me realize how much I've changed. I went into a dressing room at a store to try on a size 14 skirt, and it fit! I haven't worn a 14 since middle school. Anyway, looking at myself in the mirror, I realized I was finally able to see the change! It was THE best feeling in the world.
I also went out with my best friend who's known me for about 10 years. She said I was across the bookstore with my back to her, and she passed right over me while looking for me! She didn't even recognize that it was me from behind!
And the best one of all is that I rode a wooden roller-coaster that I did not fit on prior to surgery. I think that is one of the most stupendous moments of my life, because when I couldn't fit was one of the most horrible. This surgery was a blessing from God, and I am so happy for all of us who have these wow moments we would never have had before.

Had a couple more over the weekend. I like many others have been struggling to see just how much I changed. I think it was a combination of not believing the mirror when I was bigger and not believing it now. Any how I decided to take a front and side shot this weekend and compare to the ones from before my surgery. I didn't recognize either person, so I posted them in the photos section.
The other one is when my wife came home and told me that she had been all over town looking for a shirt with a team logo of the Columbus Crew on it (local MLS team) and was only able to find this 2XL. Well if you have seen the pictures you will see that it actually fits and I was quite shocked at how well it fit. I haven't fit a 2xl since before I was a senior in highschool.

I'm loving tight jeans...
When I started my journey, I wore size 28 jeans. Recently bought a size 14 petite jeans, and they fit really well--then I found a pair of size 12 petites on sale and bought 'em, figuring I'd need them soon. I'm wearing those now! It takes a couple of prayers, a crowbar and some baby oil, but I'm in them. They make my pannis disappear!
I've spent so many years avoiding tight clothes that I'd forgotten how supportive and, well, girdle-like, tight jeans can be! Wouldn't wear a girdle on a bet, but I'll be wearing tight jeans from here on out...
