Default Heading to the ER

Well, my leg has been strangely numb for the past 5 days. I called my surgeon and he wants me to go to the ER...I am a little freaked out, but off I go! Wish me luck!

I hope it is something as simple as you are crossing your legs too much and putting pressure on the nerve.

Details!!!! Hope all is well.

Well, that was a total waste of time. They did an ultrasound and didn't find a blood clot. We know it has nothing to do with vitamins as I just had blood work last week that was totally normal...which I found out on my cell phone on my way to the ER. BUT, it is my lower leg, ankle and part of my foot where the numbness is...the ultrasound tech said I could have a clot in my calf but they wouldn't do an ultrasound on the calf because there are too many veins. When the ER doc got the ultrasound results that were negative he said it could be a pinched nerve or just the tip of the iceberg to some sort of neurological problem. They want me to follow up with my primary and possibly see a neurologist. Greeeaaatt...just what I want to do!

Thanks for all the well wishes!!!

For all it is worth, I had similar symptons and it turned out I was crossing my legs, (because I could), and caused some nerve stuff, that corrected itself in time.

Of course continue with you Doc, but thought this info may releive your mind.

Yes, it can definitely be that...I cross my legs constantly now and I have been trying not to the past couple of days to see of the numbness stops...but it is really hard not to cross them.
