I put tissue in the spot where it would rub and that prevented any injury or discomfort to my incision.

I was also a free roamer. I rarely left the house though. I would only wear it when I went out, I think I recall it rubbing the top of my incision. I just wore my loosest bra.

I am a free roamer when I am at home, but when I go out, I wear a sports bra. I had the LAP RNY and the top incision still bothers me. Even when I wear my bra. Before the scab fell off, I would tape a small 2x2 gauze to it so the bra wouldnt rub on it.

Gina,

I know where you're coming from since I had open too. My incision is doing good except for the top part where the bra rubs ... ouch! I bought a Bestform sports bra for $3.96 right after surgery and it worked really well. I just bought another tonight ... I bought size 42 but I think they go up to size 48. I also tape a folded piece of gauze over just that portion of the incision.

Hope that helps!

i let them go free the 9 days i took off after surgery. when i had to go back i just put a litte extra gauze on top of my open wound and also where my drain had been. i wore a regular bra. i don't know i just never noticed it. but the way mine are shrinking (was a full c, now a b) i might be able to loose the bra altogether when goal comes around. lol. i hope not

I also let the girls go free while I was at home, and when I had to wear a bra, I would either tape some gauze over the top incisions or put band-aids over them. My bras were also too big by then, and the loose fit helped. I never thought of getting a sports bra!

I am actually more comfortable in a bra as the girls pre op were 46G. I had some front hook leisure bras that are soft and non pinching and that is what I wore post op to be kind to the incisions. I got them at Justmysize.com. I also used them when breast feeding to support them at sleep and with the front hooks it was convienent.

That particular incision bothered me for a good month no matter what. Now it just itches like crazy. The soft sports bra is a bit better on the area itself. How are you feeling these days?
