I am a belly sleeper and it took a solid week in a recliner and then I could lay on my side for part of the night. By two weeks I was able to sleep on my stomach. Hope the time flies for you.

I feel your pain. I roam around my house all hours of the night. Last night I actually fell asleep sitting upright outside on my porch swing at about 1 am.
Slept for about 20 minutes but I'll take it. This will sound super crazy but at 2 am and deliriously tired I'll try anything. Last night I put a large bean bag at the head of one of my beds and used it to support my back and hug around me. Got a little more sleep last night. Not sure if it was the sleeping bag or things are getting better. Let's hope the latter of the two. Otherwise I feel really good! The days are great, sometimes long....daytime TV is a bit boring. I have entertained myself emailing, magazines, and scrapbooking. Hang in there- we'll make it. Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement.

Default It took me a while

After surgery I had trouble sleeping. Or I was up really early. At times I was awake waiting for my daughter to bring my grandson in, I watch him for her and she brings him in from 4:30 - 5 AM most days. It took me a while to readjust myself. Guess it's like daylight savings time ( areas that have it) you have to take time for your body to adjust. I still have some trouble sleeping all night with this hernia I have.

Hmmm I remember roaming the house at all hours of the night. I looked like a crackhead....scratching...scratching...my mom said I had a glazed look in my eyes. It was BAD!

Thanks- I'll try anything. I actually got some sleep last night. I hope it wasn't a fluke. I also called the doctor's office today and asked for some pain medicine to make me more comfortable at night. Maybe that will help too.

I'm sure having the pain reduced at night will help a lot! I just realized that it has been so long since I slept through the night (with a 2 year old) that it hasn't been a change to wake up several times a night. Maybe that is why I don't notice much difference. Between that, the pain meds and the body pillow, I hasn't been too bad.

But don't ask me how it feels to actually MOVE in bed - ohhh - agony. The morning is the worst, out of pain meds and I have to get up to get to them. It takes several minutes to get out of bed...Worst part of the day. Then it loosens up.

Hope you get more sleep tonight!
