Exclamation This is a bit long! I'm home! not so hot.

So I checked in at the midnight hour on tuesday. Nervous about the day to come. Everything went according to plan so they told me. preop was fine the nurses were very sweet. the anesthiologist was very nice, and..... dont remember to much more after that. My family said I had ayoung male nurse, huh well i'd of liked to be coherent for that!! I know everyone was gone by ten cause I was wide awake and bored. So the nurses aid came in and got me up, i was a little sore but no biggie I have had 2 c-sections I know the drill. So as i'm trying to haul my ass out of the bed the nurses aid say's (and I am still assuming that this might be some sort of compliment) Wow why did you have this surgery you are the smallest one that I have seen! I said well my BMI is 44 and I assume that Dr. Callery wouldn't have agreed if He didn't feel it was necessary. So she goes on about all the things I wont beable to eat yadah yadah, whatever! By the way her charge nurse heard about this! So by thursday I was STROLLIN the hall with ease, no prob!! well by that night i was hurtin' the nurses were trying to get me up to walk! uh no way not happen' then I started puking!! nasty looking stuff. So my nurse gave me someting for nausea. Well needless to say friday Dr. C took one look at me and said uh cat scan and surgery, i was back in surgery within the hour. Something about an adhesion my small intestine twisted, I don't remember much about friday. I am very sore really gassy and i can't tell if I'm hungry or it's just gas. They took the on-Q out at the second surgery and the JP drain is a pisser. I know on the long run I will feel better and quite possibly gald that I did this. But for today I am just sore and completly confused about what I should be doing? I will await for the call from the Dr. tomorrow and go from there. Just a little whiney for now. I know it could have been worse. thanx for listening. can't wait to see all of you at the check up and class on thurs.

Default I Back & Out Of Hospital...

So you were in the Club Pom on Tuesday??? I didnt see you? I went in on Monday was first 6:30am appt. Than after me was Chrissy - It was sure nice to meet someone here on line and see them there at midnite just like me & hubby! I went thru so far with flying colors. First i have been on line to say hi to everyone!!! I had lap. and had expected "Open" so healing is going along okay doaky. I went home WED AM ..my hubby is such a trooper he stayed ever nite on that crappy bed next to me - i think i got up more and pottied more and all that because i had him and knew I could ask him rather than wait for a RN. They were all fantastic by the way and had no issues! Didnt get the talk you had about the foods no longer a choice - but like you too, that MON of surg was a total fog and family laughs now and tells me things I said - anyhow I go back next Thursday for my first follwup - I was 300 in the hospital at check in, the next day I was 308 and than before going home 300 again. So Jun 19th Mon to Wed was my "Visit". I came home from San Diego today to my own home. Slpet most of the trip. We stayed in SO BAY at my folks. Now in Imperial Valley. I am getting tired of the ice chips, SF Jello but did have a SF Slurpee today and my daughter got me a Hawaiian ice shaver so that is good with any Crystal lite. Went Fri Nite to my daughters GRAD from RN College and ...actually went to Anthony's Fish Grotto with Fam. I had hot herbal tea and ice passion tea. Fed my "disabled" Daughter FISH and did great! Tired alot yesterday after it all and so tomorrow going to walk my every 3 hrs and rest!!!! Oh ya , My scale at ck in 300 and this am on my scale was 284. So give or take a little on Thurs I am on my way to a new me!!!. g

One thing I can tell you is that I felt much better once the "drain" was removed. If that is an issue for you I would suggest trying to get it removed as soon as medically appropriate.

Shannon welcome to the bench. Sorry to hear you hit a couple of bumps in the road but like you said it could have been worse. It is OK to be a little whiney after surgey, don't feel bad about that.

Michelle congrats on the progress you have seen these last past couple of days. I gained a couple of pounds in the hospital as well due to the swelling and fluids in my body. When you go to your first week follow-up I am sure the number you see you will be more then pleased with. Congrats.

Shannon a few bumps in the road...Take it SUPER easy for the next while and try to keep as hydrated as possible. Don't worry so much about food or quantity...focus on healing. Keep moving around (walking) and sipping fluids.

Best to you.

Yeah, it is a TRIP! Congrats to both of you, and take it easy, sip and walk. All at the same time. Just kidding.
