I'll have to think of something along those lines (lol). Crab is my favorite dish.

Post Update!

I have my appointment to see my surgeon for the first time on May 29th. This will be the appointment that he performs a full-on evaluation of my morbid obesity and coexisting problems. Basically, his opinion of my weight problem.

According to my Tricare Manager (Europe); the evaluation will take about three days or more to finalize at the Tricare Headquarters (per this particular surgeon). Then, I hold my breath for an official approval.

Once there is a true approval (for the surgery), my Tricare Manager will call to schedule the surgery.

** The first approval was for the evaluation visit**

Default Tricare will not cover Gastric-Banding...

Oh and a big thank you for the welcome. I feel very comfortable. (smile).
This is as of 05/03/2006: Just in case Tricare changes their minds in the future. However, just wanted to drop an FYI.

Talking I've got a Date!!!

Weeeee! I'm scheduled for surgery on the 29th of June. OMG! I am soooo excited. Finally. Phew...

Weird though... 10 days prior to surgery I am to go on a all liquid diet. Then 3 weeks there after I remain on a liquid diet. What was some of yall's experience with dieting before and after surgery?

Hey Jax....a big congrats on the date!!! I was not put on a diet prior to, other than no caffeine a week before and clear liquids the day before. I think then I was on regular liquids (didn't have to be clear) for maybe 10 days, then to puree for another few weeks. I think it was like 5 weeks total before I ate soft foods. I'm sorry I don't remember exact days, but that's the general idea. You are going to do great!

Default I'm Post - Op!

(whew) Here are a few a my random thoughts...

What a ride! I swear coming out of surgery and into the ICU unit was (for me?) hilarious. I had a serious vice grip on that pain button, and did not let go until the next day (lol).

Anyway, here I am. All is well, so far... nothing to report insofar as complications. My surgery was the 29th... I'm sure I will run into a few eventually (smile). I'm actually playing very careful.

The one food that I craved after 5 days of a hospital stay was.... a Taco Bell Spicy Chicken Burrito. I'm thinking about it right now. However, I know if I drink some water that daydream will fade real quick... cause then I'd be full (lol).

Just waiting, following rules, and loving life as usual folks. My scars are healing remarkably, I have the stitches removed on the 12th of July. And doing alot of thinking, reading and planning. It's summer. These are normal activities (smile). I'll keep ya updated (smile).

Smooches!
