wow you are my inspiration
Lisa,
I posted a desperate post just a couple of hours ago and got a quick reply that I should read your story. I was so excited that I sent you a private message 1/4 of the way through then continued reading your story through to the end.
You have done so awesome and again I feel that there is some hope in this journey. I hope to hear from you really soon as to how to get this whole process moving a lot faster with Dr. Nohr.

Tawna, welcome. Glad my experiences are an inspiration to you. Its quite a journey and I wouldn't change a thing!
Some days the head still plays games and I don't feel successful...most days I feel very good about my results...hormonal I think!

Week 35
This has been a week of puzzling things. Last week I lost 4 pounds to get over the century mark...this week the scale goes up and down - of course it has something to do the Aunt Flo. I have had increasing issues in my lower stomach - I don't think its related directly to my WLS, more so a female issue.
I have lost 2 more inches on my waist this past 2 weeks and 1 inch off the ribcage.
I know that my body has gone though so much with surgery, weight loss, increase in exercise and of course hormonal. So this tender lower stomach pain is a little confusing...first I thought it was from sex, then maybe due to skin flapping, and now female issues. I see the doctor next monday. Its not bad pain, nor does it stop me from doing normal activities...but none the less its confusing.
I struggled to get in all my fluids this week. Work has been so busy, that I haven't been drinking as much through out the day..thus at night, I have to drink like crazy to get it all in.
I found Weight Watchers cereal and Kashi cereal for the first time in Canada. I am not to keen on the taste with milk, but like it when I need something crunchy. I find the WW one, so sweet - its sweetened with Splenda and when you add milk, ughh. I will pack to work on my desk to have as breakfast to go along with my protein drink.
I am starting to like chicken more and more, which is great. I think all the years on diets, I ate so much of it, I didn't want to look at it.
One funny thing this week, I was making "chicken" for the family meal and without even thinking, I checked out the lazy suzan and found honey garlic sauce from last year....hmmm...maybe I will make this tonight. So I cooked the chicken and before I poured the sauce I looked at the label - 72grams of sugar per 1/3 cup!!! Holy Cow...needless to say, thats not what I had for supper.
Clothes are driving me CRAZY! Its so much harder to wear work clothes in the winter. I have 30 lbs or so to go to goal, so still not buying much, but have to wonder how much more I will shrink. I am spending as little as I can on pants. I ordered a ski jacket from sears last week in an 18, but its too small. I have about 1.5 inches to go to do it up...I really like the coat so holding on to it and hopefully will be able to fit it soon.
Pants I am in anything from a X in plus size to a Large in regular clothing. I actually tried on 16 jeans yesterday and I can almost do them up. I find that being cut like a boy, its really hard to fit jeans regardless of my size. I did buy a pair of pants in large at Northern Reflections.
When I was 160-180 pounds in high school, I wore a Med bottom and L/XL top (38DD bust)....doesn't seem like I am that far off now and thats exciting.
I am fighting for every pound these day....but I will get there, regardless of how frustrating it seems to be right now.

The start of month 9 post op. Last month, September a total of 10lbs for the month, made century and looking forward to going from obese to overweight (another 7 lbs) and then 3 more on top of that and I make One-der-land. Should prove to be an exciting month!!!
I went out for supper with my husband and daughter on Friday night. I get a kick out of the fact that people glance at me and look away as they don't recognize me. I live in a small town of 3000, and you can't go anywhere without knowing someone. I also work for the town, therefore very public and people know who I am.
Someone I used to work with a few years ago sat at the next table and didn't recognize me. Another lady across the room kept looking at me and then looking again, looked at my husband and then finally put it together that it was me. So funny to sit and watch peoples reactions. When I was morbid obese, I didn't like people looking at me, I still don't really, really like it, but this was a fun night. People are still shocked when I tell them I had surgery, but I think thats to be expected.
In so many ways I don't see the changes, and in other ways I do. I guess that I was so comfortable with myself before surgery, that I didn't see myself as morbidly obese. I see whats under the clothes, but I didn't think others did. My husband even looked for me in the arena stands the other day and didn't see me sitting there - He saw me, but didn't put 2 & 2 together. We had a good discussion about how much I have changed - even in the face. I don't see it there...the body, yes, but not the face....the games our head plays with us!
In 2 weeks I am travelling about 4 hours for a course that I am co-facilitating. One of the girls who had surgery a few months before me and with the same doctor will be there. She is down 110lbs and I can't wait to see her! Her friend had lapband and will be there too. The group that is gathering all work in aquatics and we all know each other. It should be interesting to see their faces as they don't know that the 3 of us had surgery! We have changed so much! I will try and get a picture of us to post!
Still working on the bathing suit dilemma - I wear a support sports bra under the suit to hold the "girls" up, thus not as many issues while I swim. So funny in reality...nobody can hear me laugh underwater! Other swimmers would understand - girl swimmers of course!!!
Looking more and more like I will want a panni......a breast lift may even be in the cards too!
Until next week................

Lisa,
Way to go on hitting the century mark. Your progress and cheerful, upbeat attitude are such an inspiration. Have you ever thought of taking up this supporting role full time. Wouldn't it be nice if there were jobs like that?
Keep up the good work. You are doing so awesome.
