Default Great Job Lisa

Hi Lisa

You are doing amazing, glad to hear you had a great time on your cruise. I am gearing up for my surgery on Monday, feeling a bit overwhelmed. So many things to prepare for.

Thanks for posting your story, I have been reading and re-reading it. Seeing as we both have the same doctor I feel much better with what you have said. Although I am really worried about the hair loss - has yours stopped coming out in clumps?

Best to you on Monday...you will do great...its a rough 2 weeks, but its gets MUCH MUCH better after that.

Hair....its still coming out quite a bit. More so when I use hard water vs. soft water...go figure. It has slowed down and new hairs are coming. Nobody would notice the difference in my hair, but I do! The hairdresser said it was fine and I still had lots of hair. Its just much thinner. At 7 months it should be stopping soon!

Take care and let us know when you are out of surgery! Remember, the NG tube is only in for a few days and take all the meds they offer you!

Default yuck to the NG tube

i think that will be the worst - the tubes

thanks for the kind wishes - im anxious now, cant wait, just want it over so i can come back home to my kids - i am hoping as soon as i get the tube out i can come home

what was follow up like for you? did you have to go back at 2 weeks, if thats the case i was thinking i could come home at the 5 days mark or whenever i get back then go back to the hat for the followups - distance for me to the hat is just under 5 hours away, not like how far you were, so i am lucky and hoping i can home when released.

i will defiinitely keep in touch afterwards, i am so glad to have found you and this site, you and this site have been a great inspiration.

Hi Carrie. The NG tube will come out on Thursday after you have the leak test. The other tubes are not that bad, you won't even know they are there. The one doesn't hurt at all coming out, the other just for 5 seconds. You will leave the hospital on Sat with only one tube and that comes out when you get your staples out approx. 2 ater surgery. Just keep it taped to your body so it doesn't flap around and you don't even know its there. You can email me direct if you like meier@gochetwynd.com is the best address to get me at. He allows you to go home on the Sat. if you like and then have your staples and tube removed with your own doctor. I stayed there as I was so far away and in a small town, but I would think living where you do, you would be able to go home. See how you feel.

Will be thinking of you. Take Care - you will do great!

Default I never thought I would do this

Thanks to my pod-mate Lisa and my daughter....I went for an early morning walk and actually included some RUNNING in there! OMG! Lisa (goblin) posted last week that she was running and I thought...hmmm I have always wanted to run, but due to weight, not possible. I also thought the boobs would get in the way. And it would have been easier without the DD's, I did ok. Out of breath when I got home, but it felt so good. I started off real slow and in small increment's....but I ran....havent' done that since high school 20 years ago.

Had my first home made taco for supper tonight...was concerned about it going down, but no issues. I can pretty much eat anything (without too much sugar or sugar alcohol) and it goes down...scary. very scary. Doesn't mean that I have to eat it, or that I should. Of course the quantity of anything I do eat is very small, but when eating with others now, I blend right in.

Anyone out there feel the same way about eating and blending in?

Default hit the century

So I have had a few days to realize that I made it to century club and what a ride it has been. I am cheering on my fellow teammates as so many are right around where I am. The support from these fellow staplers is amazing and so helpful in success.

As our fall approaches, (well winter as I woke to snow on the ground this morning!!!) more of our customers are coming indoors and seeing me again since the spring. The comments have been great and I find myself explaining to them how I did it more and more.

One girlfriend is really struggling with me shrinking. In fact, we haven't socialized for quite a while now, but I don't want to feel like I have throwing it in her face (which I am not). She is morbid obese and diabetic and I want to support her in her WL efforts, but its an uncomfortable situation with us.

I am gladly shipping off 4 boxes of clothes to people living in Canada. Its nice to be able to give to someone else and know that the clothes will be used..makes it easier for me to give them away.

One thing I am getting used to this week is the cold! Ugghh. I don't think I have ever been this cold in my whole life..I guess 102 pounds of insulation for all these years have been keeping me warm. I used to wear shirts and blouses to work, now investing in a few sweaters, a portable heater in my office and warm shoes. I even have an electric blanket coming for me bed - I slept in pants and shirt the other night to keep warm! I used to go "o natural". Shoes - thats a difficult story. I was an 11wide shoe, then went into a 11b shoe and now the 11's don't fit, and the 10's are too small! Uggh, of course an 10.5 can not be found...my solution, I ordered 1 pair of clots with open back in a narrow and hope this will enable me to wear a shoe until the shoe size stabilizes...lets just hope its an even 10!

Even walking last night, I was frozen and I had on pants, polar fleese, long windbreaker and mitts...I should have had on a tuke and scarf! So I broke down and ordered a ski jacket from Sears. Last year I wore a mens 4X in big and tall, this year I ordered an 18 ladies!

You might be wondering how cold it is here...Not bad really. It was plus 4Celcius last night when walking, goes below zero at night. 2 weeks ago, I was still in a tank top and shorts!

I have 2 new online girls (one on this site:chilmoe) that had surgery with my doctor 4 days ago that I am supporting. I feel like I had so much support and help from others, that I enjoy helping those going through the process now. Truly, it helps me too!

Thats all my news for this week.
