Default Week 25

The start of week 25, 2 more weeks and it will be 6 months...hard to believe. Down 5lbs the past 2 weeks....ok I guess...but so slowly! 82 pounds in total for 5 1/2 months. What a change! I wish for more, and try not to compare to others, sometimes that is a challenge. My doc wanted me at 85-100lbs in the 6 months, so I am assuming that I will meet the bottom end of that goal.

My hair is coming out in clumps...more than ever...was hoping this would be done by now. Its quite thin, but still there.

I am starting to see the skin change on my body. When I wave, my arms swing with me. My boobs I can pull the skin away from them. The bra cup size is the same as I have to shove it all in there! The tummy seems to be going back the best, which is surprising - its the one area covered up, so I thought no big deal.

Goal for this week to increase my fluid intake (its been tough for a few days) and up my exercise (well work harder at it)!

Default Start of week 26

Surprise....surprise.....so far this month I have lost 10lbs and I still have a week to go. Amazing. At 87lbs total and in a week it will be my 6 month anniversary! The inches are slow now, but the body is changing.

My doctor wanted 85-100lb loss in the 6 months, so I have met the bottom end of his expectations.

I have been very good following my eating plan and my habits have definately changed for the better. With this hot, hot weather I have been getting in more fluids that expected - and the body would need it.

I tried a bite of potato this weekend...haven't had that for so long. Wasn't worth having...a good thing.

Some days I think I push myself too hard with exercise and feel the pain in the legs or back. If its muscle, then I think its ok, if its bone pain, I have to back off some.

Its so funny to see clothes on the rack and think, "ohh thats too small", yet when I put it on, it fits or I have to get a smaller one. Same thing when I do the laundry.....I think its the daughters dress, and its my shirt!

There are a few overweight/obese aquaintences that I know in town and they see me, they don't say anything about my weight to me, but I feel like they stare or feel embarassed about their size. I know I can't be responsible for their thoughts, but I remember me being there not so long ago and wishing that was me who lost the weight. Some of them know I had surgery and not too accepting of this method, others are fine. I am comfortable with my choices and would support them on any attempts or programs they felt were good choices for them. 4 weeks till I go on holidays...I can't wait!

Default 6 months post op

So its been 6 months now and I posted a few pictures on the post-op area. 89lbs and 51 inches in my 6 months. Life is so much better.

I went into Cotton Ginny yesterday to look for pants. My waist and hips are only 2.5 inches different, thus hard to buy fitted pants. I went to the right side of the store - the plus section, looked around and then saw some cool pants on the regular size side.

They didn't have any XL in stock. The sales lady said that the XL is a little smaller than the Small on the plus side. Uggghh. I gathered up some other clothes to take in to the dressing room. The sales lady asked if I wanted the Large pants to try on...yah right? I took them out of kindness.

Tried on the clothes, and wouldn't you believe it, the Large pants fit! My daughter who is 8 jumped off the chair in the dressing room and said, great job mom, I am proud of you! I had tears in my eyes. I bought the pants.

Then off to other stores where I actually bought a few blouses that are very "girly". I am so used to cotton t-shirts and baggy clothes, I forgot what it was like to feel like a girl. When I came home and did the fashion show for the husband, he was very very pleased.....said he should send me to the city more often to buy clothes.

I started at a 28/30 in pants, shirts and dresses. I now wear a 18 dress or blouse. Pants - really depend on the cut and style - anywhere from a 22 to a 18! Shopping in regular sizes is so much fun!

A very successful shopping trip.

you are right on track and doing a great job! Congrats. on your new clothes. I know it is the best feeling. And even better is when you find out the clothes you thought you needed are too big. We under estimate our size.

You look awesome!!!

Default Week 28

One meesley pound in the past 2 weeks! Ugghhh....hope this is not a sign of things to come over the next months. Will have to kick up the exercise once again! I did loose an inch more on the waist, the ribs and the hips...

On the postive note, we went to the fair and chuckwagon races this past weekend. I was able to ride the rides with my daughter and fit in the seats! My favorite ride, the octopus I was still a little apprehensive to get on in case I didn't fit in the seat...next year I will go for sure!

Very, very hard to eat at these events. Glad I packed a protein bar in my bag. Even the bottled water was gross, but I drank it down. You are not allowed to pack in your own food, but I was able to sneak in the protein bar.

Back to work today after 2 weeks at home. Nice rest, but glad to be back to the grindstone.

Lets just hope I can report more than a pound in 2 weeks!

Default Week 29

A 5lb weight loss for this month so far (its been 3 weeks). Heading on our Alaska Cruise in 4 days from now. So looking forward to it and the great pictures...even better that I am down 94 pounds and maybe look forward to me being in the picture instead of taking all of them to avoid it.

A little wow moment yesterday. Packing with my husband for the trip and he put on one of his polar fleese jackets. He is short, and the jacket was a bit long on him, and I said, it might fit me one day....well he tossed it my way...and guess what ? It fit. Its a mens Medium.....Now saying that, there is no way I would fit into other shirts of his that are Medium, but this one I did! It packed in my suitcase now, not his! He says pretty soon I'll be in his underwear..NOT!

I went to a picnic yesterday with about 60 people for our work (Council, Mayor, and all the workers included). I had a few heads turn my way trying to figure out who I was! It was so funny. I was wearing sunglasses too, so it didn't help them any. Its amazing that the people who know me and know about the surgery watch everything that I put into my mouth. I had steak and greek salad on my plate, but I went to get my husband a dessert plate and loaded it with cake, cinnnamon bun, cookies and fudge. From the table to my husband, 2 people actually approached me and asked me what I was doing....It felt funny and I said it was for my husband, but one actually followed me outside. Maybe she thought I was lying....the diet cops!

One of the managers who is a real jerk always comes to chat with me. His daughter is on a diet/exercise program (she is probably a size 26/28) and she is doing really well - lost 3 dress sizes. I see her at the pool all the time and support her in her efforts. Every time I see him, he has to point out how proud of her and that she is doing it the PROPER WAY....he makes me so mad. Everytime I be polite and say how wonderful she is doing and must feel so good and then he says the stupid "proper way" words once again. His daughter is about 32 years old, still lives at home. This guy is about 6 feet tall and is about 400 pounds. He can't walk half a block! He is also the same guy I posted about in April that wanted to give me advice on how to eat. I want to tell him to listen to his own words.

I guess the fact is that we live our whole life with people judging us for the way we look or how we lost weight...in the end we have to live our own life!

See you all on the 5th of Sept, when I will be back online!

PS: I set a mini goal for 202 lbs...that takes me from obese to overweight. (you notice no time frame......but I will get there!)
