Lisa,
Sorry I missed these pictures!! You look fantastic!! Look at how tiny your ankles are...I have an ankle fetish since mine are currently to fat for an anklet!

Wow Lisa I never saw any of these pictures, you look great. Part of this journey is adjusting to a new lifestyle. I personally think the first 6 months to a years a learning process, you learn as you go along. I am proud of you and all that you had been through because you have hung in there.

Week 22
Just when I though the weight was stopping once again..ie: plateau, it broke this weekend. So far in June its 11 pounds, which seems to be going along with the norm for the past months. I still have a week to go for the month, so we will see. The inches are not coming as much now..it was so dramatic in the beginning. I am in a size 18 jean up to a 22 depending on the cut. I don't have hips or a butt to speak of, so its really hard to fit pants. When I get a pant to fit the waist, I have mega material at the hips and thighs. I am built like a boy, regardless of the size that I am. There is maybe 5 inches difference between my waist and hips....oh well thats not gonna change.
I have been evaluating the types of foods I eat as the fat content seems a little high when I enter on fitday.com. When you eat less, the fats seem to add up faster. I have to be very conscious that I eat enough food. If I don't, then I don't loose. I can't skip a meal anytime. I am faithfully doing 3 meals a day and occasionally having a snack that is healthy (fruit or protein drink).
Portion sizes are still screwing me up. I read a max of 5 oz at any one time for life. This comes from the recent Lifestyles magazine (WLS mag)....I can do 8oz now and question 5oz being enough...hmmm. Don't think I will ever figure this out.
I walk between 2-5km everyday and really enjoy it. I am challenging myself on my bike and doing more hills and can now do the hill by my house without having to walk any of it.(the daughter not happy about this) I fit in other exercise as I can with my busy schedule. I have tons of holidays this summer, so I will be able to get my butt into curves more often as well as swimming. The pool is right outside my office door.
Still looking for good foods to pack with me camping. I used to eat hot smokies with mustard and when people visit, hot dog are a staple. Uggh. Never been a hotdog person. Breakfast and Dinner are easy, its the lunch meal that I have a hard time finding something to eat...last weekend I just did the protein drink at lunch and it seemed easier.
BBQ'd a chicken on a can of beer for supper last night. Oh so good and moist. Had spinich salad with it.
Onto another busy week. oh, and I am on the cusp of going from severely obese to obese...my BMI is now 35 !!

5 months today!
Well today is officially 5 months. 11 pound loss this month to make the total 77lbs. Inches are changing very little, but I find clothes are fitting different.
Foods that I liked pre-op don't do much for me anymore. Eating is just a task that I have to take on for the day. Not much enjoyment in it - some with certain foods that I eat, but most of the time it eating to nourish my body.
Exercise is going good. I still need to step it up even more to get the sweat pouring. Biking is probably my favorite. I walk everyday between 1-4 km.
Clothes - I was a 28 pant, now between a 18-22 depending on the cut. Tops were 5X, now X. Bra was a 46DD, now a 40DD. My waist and hips are only 3 inches difference, so pants are very hard to fit!
I was not expecting hanging skin on my arms as they were pretty trim from swimming....but its probably the most noticable skin on my body. I wave and it giggles all over the place. Summer in tank tops and bathing suits show it off more I guess.
My husband turns 50 in late August, so I surprised him with a cruise to Alaska. We leave Vancouver, BC on August 26 and return a week later. I checked into food on the boat, and I don't think I will have any problems with food. I will need to buy bottled water and will take along some single crystal light packages with me. Now I just need a few clothes for the trip. Will wait another month before I buy anything.
Well thats my update.......23lbs to hit the 100 loss mark........I will set a mini goal to have this done by the time I get on the boat (will be 7 months then). If I keep with the 10-12lb loss per month, I should be able to achieve!

You never know how the weather is going to be...it changes fast, but when we went it was in the low 70's. VERY NICE!! We went on one excursion in Skagway that got chilly, but not uncomfortably chilly.

Wow, I can't believe you are 5 months out already.......time flies! You are doing awesome and you sound great too. I would love to take that trip also. Let me know how it is. I'd pack mostly pants, a few capri's, regular shoes, a pair of sandals, and regular sleeve shirts and neutral sweaters! That should make it flexible....Ohians KNOW how to be flexible for the weather.

tried something new
The weather has been so hot here..nice for a change...but the neighbouring town (60 miles away) was evacuated 2 days ago due to massive forrest fires (there are 4 threatening the town) Yesterday is was 37 C here, which I believe is in the 90's to you. Our town only has 3000 people and we adopted 2000 extra's and their pets. Its been an educational process of learning, understanding and compassion the past few days. I am so happy to be from a place that was so helpful to those in the community. Good news, they are allowed back in their homes tomorrow, but still on alert (hopefully they won't have to evacuate again).
I am on holidays for the next 2 weeks so won't be on the board as much, taking this opportunity to camp with my husband and daughter at the lake.
Went into the city yesterday (3 hr drive) and bought a few cheap sundresses in size 20...........compared to the 28/30 from before (could have gone smaller if the bust wasn't still the DD that it was pre-op. Oh well.
I bit the bullet and tried sushi...well kinda...had the prawns cooked, but loved the rolls. Was not sure of the rice, if it would go down and stay down, but it did...I just took it slow. I was so GOOD....too bad its 3 hrs away. Had a starbucks too while I was there. I very nice treat. I miss living in the city for many things, but really enjoy the more laid back, stress free living here.
Oh, and I shopped in a regular size store that had a big sale on and I could actually look at the clothes with the possibility of finding something that fit me and on sale. I did - came away with a bathing suit and a pair of short in regular XL!
So no weigh in this week or next, maybe a nice surprise when I get on the scale in mid-July. Cross the fingers....23 lbs to go to hit the century!
