Default Julee's story...

Hi EVERYONE! My name is Julee. I am 30 years old and new to this site also. I have just taken the plunge to get the ball rolling for gastric. My sister had gastric almost 3 years ago and lost close to 150 pounds! She looks great. I was the one that was always thin growing up and she was always heavy.. Now I am the "fat kid" in the family! When I was 21 I was maybe 20 pounds overweight and that just took off from there. Now I am 4 feet 11 inches and are hoping to lose 100 pounds. I know it can be done thanks to gastric surgery.

My health is not the best, borderline diabetic, PCOS, high bp, hyperlipidemia, etc.. all the yucky things to go along with being 100 pounds OVERweight. I am anxious to be the me that I used to be and not this tired body of what I am now.

On December 20th I was told that I am now a candidate for the surgery as long as I pass a few things which I am assuming are the norm everywhere. My sister had to do the same thing which was the psych eval and then for insurance purposes, 3 months of meeting with a dietician to show I have tried to lose weight. Does this mean to you guys/gals that once this is done I probably will be approved?.. (OF COURSE UNLESS THEY FIND ME ONE PEA SHORT OF A CASSEROLE).

My psych eval will be next week on the 17th and I meet with the dietician tomorrow. I can not wait.. There is not a long waiting list so I asked the gastric coordinator when approximately she thinks I can have it and she said when those above requirements are met.. . so April??? WOW.. i can not even imagine possibly being thin by summer (or at least on my way). It has been so long since I have felt good about myself. I cant wait. It is like the beginning of my life. I am sure you all have (still do) feel that way too!

Well.. that is my story in a nutshell.. Hope to write more later and get some info from you all. I have a lot more to write, but in the middle of working.. yuck! Thanks for the nice support and guidence. It is appreciated.

Default Hi Nancy

That is so funny.. I was just reading on you but could not read it all (time). I am anxious to read more I have to just get some time to do it! I noticed you have this below: If a person has not had the surgery yet do you put the information or no? My weight is 210 right now and my goal is 100 pounds (i am short ) haha. Obviously I realize I would not have the same information as you being I have not had the surgery yet, but do I put my weight and goal or anything?

You go to User CP at the top corner and set up your signature. You can put in your current weight if you want with a slash and then goal weight.
