I too love your journal! Thanks for sharing. I do have to agree with what someone else said: RELAX girl!

I am a bit confused as to what I am supposed to relax about. I know personaly that many other patients that are under 6 months out have the same fears and misgivings that I do.....they just don't have a running journal that puts their fears into words. So, do I stop fearing that I can eat too much and relax? Being that I can eat over 1700 calories a day without ever feeling full concerns me, but should I just relax? What about the fact that I was told by more than one surgeon that the chances of me losing to an ideal body weight was highly unlikely, should I just relax? Should I just relax and be content to lose 50lbs, should I not exersize.....my surgeon specifically told me "you need to get your heart rate up and do resistance work, people walk all day every day. Walking is not enough" I wasn't 100lbs overweight, not technically because of my muscle density, so the weight is not falling off me like some others who have 150-250 lbs to lose yet I had the same surgery, the same recovery and the same fight trying to get to this point so I am going to work hard to get the results I would like to see. To anyone who thinks they had this surgery to relax.......good luck. And to anyone who had the surgery and portrays that my fears haven't been their fears.....even just for a glimpse of a second.....LIAR!

You are doing fine. I think it's awesome that you work out as much as you do. I really wish I had the dedication that you have to going to the gym. I also think that it's great that you spill your guts at least once a week on here. I don't always respond to you post, but I do read them, and I enjoy reading them. Everyone has fears and concerns as you said, but not everyone is putting it all out there for everyone to see. I'm over a year and a half out, and I still fear that I will gain the weight back. It's just the way it is I guess. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah and can you send me some of you gym dedication, because if I had half of what you had I think I would be better off!

Jeanie...truth be told, about working out, my gym is connected to my sons karate studios. My son's (and now my 3yo daugter has started too) go 4 days a week so I really have no excuse not to go. If I had to go workout at 24 hour fitness or some big chain I probably wouldn't have enough confidence to do it but the gym I belong to is very small and you tend to see alot of the same people daily and we kind of cheer eachother on or comisserate. I have gotten alot of encouragement from people I have seen 3-4x's a week for the last year and a 1/2.......it really is wonderful hearing "looking good" from people who truly see a difference. You have to be comfortable with what you are doing, and that I am.

Thanks for being candid. I don't think the fear of "going back" ever goes away.

Default Yeah, I can't relax either...

Everyone has different personalities (cliche) but I tend to overanalyze too and I cannot stay off the scale. It shows I gained three pounds overnight and I am trippin'! I am still only doing thick liquids and have had nothing to make me dump. This whole thing is killing me. But i can feel a difference in my clothes and my neck has shrunk an inch already. I really find that hilarious - maybe I won't need that CPAP machine anymore.

I am having some looseness to the bowel area (being polite) this afternoon, after having a normal BM this morning, and I am totally worrying. Okay, I vented too much but I hope that occasional looseness is normal.

Oh QueenB I'm sorry if you took my comment as an insult. It wasn't meant to be that way! Not at all. I have read your entire journal and you amaze me. You are always going going going. It just sounds like you need some time to relax: take a bubble bath, know what I mean? Keep up the great work hon. I didn't mean to offend you.

There was no offense taken but I couldn't figure out what kind of relaxing I was supposed to do. I am with you 100% on slowing down and actually in between all my "going" I am usally stretching on the floor or napping LOL A bubblebath does sound nice........unfortunately the tub is in the kids bathroom and I am in the process of proving a point by not picking up after them so I am scared of it LOL (I am pretty suret they don't care and the point is being missed....OH WELL) I am considering a message thought ...through the gym

A message it is then!

So I found myself at the gym again (suprise) knowing that I was there to do my legs and avoiding actually doing them . I asked my trainer if he could promise that my legs wouldn't hurt like they did the first time I did the lunges, squats and machines, he said "almost". But he did promise they wouldn't hurt as bad I could see myself in years past just not doing it but tonight I did it. I buckled down and did my legs. My legs were shaking as my son and I walked around Cost-Co getting fruit.....but I did it! Now I apprciate having a trainer with me. I have only seen him once this week (Monday) and I won't see him again till next week and I miss the guidance and his "quitcherwhinin!" Hopefully I can talk him into seeing me Tu, Th from now on!

My husband called me a waif to my mother who then brought it up to me. I find this quite humerous since I still weigh more than 20 lbs above what I weighed when we got married. He actually tried to convince me that working out was bad for me *NERD* I wonder how he'll feel when I get down to the weight he married me at....or below *gasp* He told me my legs were shrinking before I left for the gym today.......not getting shorter.......thinner, but I can't say he said it in a completely complementary way. I wonder if I should bring it up to him or just let it go.......he deals with things differently and I know he has to deal so I don't want to interfere with his method for doing that as long as he is moving along.

I am kind of disappointed in how clothes fit me now. I really have lost alot of weight in my breasts and I still have a pretty good buldge around my belly button area.......so the proportions are off from the last time I weighed this much. I was also nursing my youngest daughter at that time so I was definitely more curvaceous When will the belly go down? Anyone know? I'll stick with my too big shorts and baggy sweatshirts till it does.
