you put 1/09 - but I assume that is a typo, you wouldn't have sat for a year!?

i am sorry you are getting the run-around. they sound like a nightmare but i would just be at their mercy, but call and bug them. they might finally give you a date just to get rid of you

Lisa:

I think it is awful that they treat their patients that way. I am not too happy with my center either but I loved my surgeon, so I can understand how you feel.

Hang in there and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yep. Fixed it.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I still have not heard anything. I go tomorrow for the last "leg" of the footwork I've been having to do. I'm praying so hard that I know by the end of this week.

This was truly been the biggest test of my patience.

Hope everyone is well. XO

I agree with waiting to say something. I did. They, too, messed around with some things and I decided not to say anything till after. I wanted to make sure things were still going to happen.

You certainly have had patience & I admire that. All I can say is, let's hope it's sooner than later.

Thanks AAA (and by the way congratuations on your weight loss, I admire THAT!)

I couldn't hold my tongue anymore. I sent the surgeons wife (who's the manager basically of the practice and surgical coordinator) a 3 and 1/2 page letter (not email, LETTER) the other day explaining step by step what has happened. She wrote me back early morning yesterday and said she WOULD be calling me later in the afternoon.

She called. We were on the phone for almost an hour. She (again) apologized profusely. She also made the statement "I can certainly understand why you kept to yourself...but it makes me wonder how many other people have been through this and have kept their mouth shut as well." She thanked me, and couldn't stop apologizing.

As it stands (she will confirm on Monday), my surgery date will be February 22...and I'm praying HARD. If not (for time constraints in the O.R.)....then the week of March 1-5. I'm so relieved. I've been sick to my stomach over all of this and not sleeping.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and support.

You have been through a real test of your patience and fortitude, that's for sure. Your letter to the surgeon's office sure did help - we have to more proactive about our own lives at times and you did the right thing. I think when we don't go at it in an angry way and just explain our frustrations people want to help us. Its in the human nature to want to help! I hope you'll let us know for sure when you get the official date.....well done!!!

I am so happy you have a tentative date. I think the squeeky wheel gets the grease applies here.

My daughter also had problems at school because of her 'fat' Mom. I have always felt bad. Kids can be so incredibly cruel. I know my kids could be at times too - and I would correct them at home and hope they didn't continue at school. I wonder where they learn this - seems like from each other.

Any way - good luck. Always stand up for your self - no one else will. But we will be here supporting you!!!!!!
