Why Am I Doing This To Me
Ok guys this doesn't really have anything to do with surgery but I thought who else can I turn to for support. I'm going to meet my soon to be in laws and his best friend all starting 9/3. I'm so afraid that they are not going to like me or something. He told me a few weeks ago that I'm the smallest girl he has ever dated which makes me happy because he is not the type of guy that goes for girls for there looks he gets to know the inside out. He is a great guy and tells me that they are going to love me but I keep stressing this no matter what.
Why am I doing this to myself? I mean I've went to the extreme more than normal with this. I've got a list of things to do before we leave. I mean I'm even having my hair done. I've talked to his mom on the phone and she loves me but I'm so afraid I'm going to do or say something to make that change. I have never been like this with any ones parents but then again I normally don't wait almost 5 years before I meet them...LOL
I'm hoping I can have the net while we are there so I don't go crazy missing the forum. I'm really getting back into it again.

Everything will be fine! Take a deep breath. Just be yourself, and they will love you. You are a sweet outgoing person, and there is no reason they wouldn't like you. You make their son happy, and you're a great girl. Just remeber breath and be yourself!

Remember it's you he wants and the family doesn't make the decision. All will be fine, just relax.

You know I'm thinking it is time to change my meds. I've been on these since OCT or NOV and they say your body gets used to it. I've been through this with Paxil twice before. I think I"m goign to talk to my Dr and see what he says.
I just love you guys. I know why am I worrying about pleasing them it's him I love and I know he loves me. I mean heck we live together and he still calls me at least once a day to tell me he loves me. You guys are the best. I'm so glad I found my way back to the support that I need.

Meeting the inlaws is a nerve wrecking thing. Of course you want to get all dolled up. First impressions as they say. Get dressed up and have a blast.

I was terrified to meet my husbands, then boyfriends, parents. She had already yelled at me on the phone once! The day we met, his dad told him right in front of me, "You better marry this girl, and QUICK!" His mother didn't like me. For a long long time. She was like Marie, from Everybody Loves Raymond. Exactly. Things changed after we had a huge argument and I told her, "You know what lady, don't make me tell him to chose between me and you, because I assure you, he WILL chose where he gets laid." I never should have said that to her, and I regret it to this day. But it was the turning point in our relationship. Now she LOVES me, and calls me her daughter and everything. Just be your adorable sweet self. And although I'm sure she will adore you, it really isn't the most important thing if she doesn't.
