Your story is a wonderful testament to the strength people hold in their spirit. Your mom came back - she just was not ready to leave you, your brother or dad - her job is just not done here on this earth. Your strength is too taking the steps towards the kind of healthy life you deserve. You will always come across some nasty people - like that nurse - but remember, along the way there are 100 great people for every nasty 1 - pretty good odds if you ask me! The sad thing about it is we always seem to remember the ones who "done us dirt".
Anywayly keep on writing. You have a knack with the written word. Take care and before you know it your early Christmas gift will be delivered! ((( hugs )))
p.s. I was weeping through the second half of the post. Glad things worked out for mom and the family.
No I have never given it a thought nor have I written fiction or kept a blog/diary. This is a first - I'm way too scatterbrained to keep my attention on one particular thing. I started typing last night at around 2:30 A.M. and somehow managed to finish the entire thing. When I looked at the time I was like holy crap, BEDTIME! lol.

Those are definitely good odds, everyone that I met at the hospital for the almost two weeks I was there were all very compassionate and truly cared about my moms well-being. There is a man that comes into the store every once in a while that encountered my family back in January, and he recognized me the first time we crossed paths. Not to mention, he's a CUTIE!

Gosh, I never meant to make anyone cry! *hugs*

So, last week I was going through some old pictures of me when I was little. And in 99% of them I am overweight..even though I was a cutie, boy was I a chunkster! I'll post a few tonight when I get off of work.

I'm also trying to think of possible 'last minute' questions to ask the dietician next month when I have my two hour pre-op class. I don't want to all of a sudden have all of these questions when I'm being put under! Maybe I'm overpreparing? Who knows...

I can tell you are really excited about the upcoming surgery. To tell the truth I can't even think of any questions to give you to put on your list. You have been reading and posting on here for a while and have had a chance to really prepare yourself for what is to come. I bet you were a little cutie as a child - no doubt about that - you are a cutie now. Can't wait to see the photos when you post them.
Later kid!

I'm new here, so we don't know each other yet. What an inspirational story! I'm definitely in your corner. Please keep up with the blog. I would love to hear how your mom is doing. The way you feel about your mom... well, ditto. I have no idea how I could live without my mom. My mom had gastric bypass two years ago. Before her surgery, she couldn't even walk. She was depressed. The surgery changed her life and now it's changed mine. I pray that it will positively change yours. You seem like a darling of a person. Good luck!

Anywho. <3 you. Cannnnot wait. You are going to do awesome, or i'm sending cassie from KY with her banjos and stuff.

Awwww thank you! It's nice to meet you, btw. That's amazing that the surgery changed hers and your life. My mom dealt with depression too after her surgery, it sucked cause I felt like I was helpless...but she's past that now and is almost 100% again!
