Default surgery is scheduled!!!!!!!!!

I am so so so so excited. All of my tests have come back and I am scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:30am on 11/17/2009. I have pre op 11/12/2009 from 11am- 2:30pm. I have found my full liquid diet that I like. It seems like everything is falling into place. I am sure I will spend countless hours reading TT in the next week and a half.

In case you didn't gather from the above paragraph- I am so Excited

I somehow missed your post until now. Congrats on the WLS and you are on the fast track! If no one has suggested Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies, it is a good book to read over prior to surgery.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter but I'm glad she's ok now! My youngest almost died on me at a month old and it is never fun to watch your children in pain!!

Best wishes to you and welcome to TT! There's alot of great people, great advice, and great inspiration here!

11 days to go.........

making my list for the hospital.

1. lip balm
2. brush
3. tooth paste and tooth brush
4. pillow
5. meds
6. vitamins
7. phone ( to call my family)
8. shampoo and conditioner ( in case my stay is longer than I plan)
9. socks
10. Large night gown, and pajama pants for the trip home.

Anything else y'all can think of? I am so excited. I think the days will go by fast, I plan on shopping this weekend for supplies for the day before surgery, and the week after. Also need to get my house clean and make lists for hubby and kids.

I took an extra pillow and used it in the bed. But what I really needed it for was the drive home to hold my tummy so the bumps didn't kill me!

Best of luck!

10 days and counting... today is Saturday November 7th 2009. I am trying to get a lot done this weekend. Deep cleaning my bedroom, bathroom and a couple of the kids bedrooms. I would like to get my kitchen all organized and get down on my hands and knees and clean all of the hardwood and ceramic tile this weekend. I figure next Saturday I will grocery shop and make 2 pans of Lasagna, 2 pots of Chili, a pot of beef & Barley soup for the hubby and 4 kids. I figure that will get them through the first week while I am not feeling up to cooking & shopping.

I started getting my overnight bag packed for the hospital and I am sticking to the diet my surgeon wanted me on 1 week prior to surgery- I have actually been doing it for a few days now. I figure the less fat on my liver before surgery the better. I am anxious to go for all of my pre op this THursday to see if I have lost a little bit of weight.

I have also made a list of telephone numbers for my husband and made a large packet of financial info/ insurance info/ phone numbers// letters to the kids etc... in case something goes wrong.

I am still really excited, just wondering when I am going to start getting nervous.

And where do you live - anywhere close to Toronto so you can come and do my house too???? Boy oh boy, you make feel lazy! Seriously though, it is good to get all that deep cleaning done because you might not feel like doing it for a few months. Light cleaning yes, but not what you have accomplished. The cooking ahead is a great idea too so you have food to just warm up. I did the financial package and letters to the kids, along with a will and other documents too. Just in case!!! I'm sure you'll be just fine, but it does put your mind at ease having all the loose ends tied up.
Your 10 days will just fly by, being as busy as you are. You'll be on the bench before you know it. Have a wonderful week! ((( hugs )))

I am a newbie too. I started looking into the surgery last year at the advice of my therapist. I went to the informational meeting lead by the doctor and did my blood work but that is about it. We ended up having a lot going on at the time (moving, financial issues etc.) so I didn't finish. I am now back looking into it and have pretty much decided to go for it. I have no idea if my insurance covers though and how much which is what I am concerned about. What insurance do you have that denied you? Did you call and talk to them directly?
