The kids are so easy, Givanni just turned 2 last month and he loves to be a helper. The babies are not mobile yet at 2 months and 3 months so they are super simple, eat, change, sleep. I am blessed that I have a housekeeper fulltime so I dont have to do any cleaning, laundry or anything else but play with babies.
Well, you lucky girl, full time housekeeper - my dream!!!! Then my hubby retired and voila I have my dream come true. He loves to cook, shop, do the dishes and helps with the laundry - I love to dust and vacuum so it works out very well.
I'm still in awe of you having the energy for 3 little ones, especially now, after the surgery. Wow!
Walking is a great exercise, especially close after the surgery, but anytime as well. I too love to walk. Now that we have the crisp cool autumn air its a joy to just pop on my walking shoes, get on a light jacket, hook up my dog on her leash and head out to tour my neighbourhood. We are in walking distance of Lake Ontario's shore, so I can head down there to the boardwalk and walk for miles if I want, or drive to the east end of Toronto and get on the boardwalk there and walk and walk. The southern end of Toronto is quite flat so its easy to start down here, but when I'm ready to pump it up I can head north and have some wonderful butt-hills, as I call them, to really energize the walk. My son and daughter live north of us, so I walk there and get plenty of good fresh air and exercise.
Glad to hear from you again, and look forward to more.

Well I had my 15 day post op appt yesterday. The Dr is so happy. He said I made him smile. I did lose 20 pounds and he thought that was a little fast in 15 days. He wants me to try and get more protien in with food and less shakes now. I did have to do blood tests yesterday as I had donated a kidney to my sister years ago and he wants to make sure my only kidney is happy with the changes to my body. He said he was being overly cautious, but thats just fine.

I have not had any issues with pain, nausea or vomiting. I think I am very, if not too careful about eating.

I am able to keep up with the 3 babies very easily. We walk almost every day, pushing a double stroller and carrying the littlest in a front pack. 2 miles and happy babies.

What a wonderful gift indeed.

Well thanks Ms Kitty. I am so gald you are feeling better too. My Dr. had told me to expect left side pain moreso as thats where the largest tools and deepest incisoins are. I could not tell the difference, but you sure had a bout there.

I hope you continue feeling better each and every day.

Ellie

Ellie,

You are doing great and should be so proud of yourself! I was still on the weak side at your stage so don't know how you are keeping up with the little ones. Keep your protein intake up, your fluids and your vitamins, so you can keep up this pace you are already cruising!

Yesterday was my first real challenge since the operation. Vanessa got married. Vanessa and Nicole are twins that went to school with my daughter, and were truly as much part of our family as my daugheter was part of theirs.

The wedding was beautiful, sad, but beautifu. Vanessa's Mom passed away suddenly a week ago. Very emotional and very difficult. Vanessa wrote a beautiful tribute to her Mom and the priest read it at the ceremony. Not a dry eye in the house.

It was a long day. I tried to kinda prepare for it. I had an egg in the morning, and a protien drink on the way to the wedding. Dinner was served about 7:00 pm, I went through the buffet line with my hubby and put a few things on my plate I had no intention of eating, but I didn't want to look picky or look like the one who is dieting and cant have anything. So I put good things on my plate, 2 small slices of cantelope, steamed veggies, something that looked like a coucous salad. Then I saw the salmon, perfect. I did grab a dinner roll as the salmon was in a teriyaki sauce (maybe) and I used the roll to sop off the sauce, The salmon was cooked perfectly, small portion and I enjoyed every bite. What surprised me, was the amount of alcohol they tried serving. I must have said "No Thank you" 100 times. First champagne, then cocktails with appetizers, then wine with dinner non-stop. I guess I never noticed it before.

But about 8:30, I looked at my hubby and said, ok I am tried, I am ready to go to the hotel. I think it was a combo of, the hour, wearing pantyhose for the first time since surgery, sitting all evening at a table and, only being 2 weeks out. I was cold, tired, and just not feeling well. We got back tot he hotel and I was asleep within 10 minutes. Hubby went downstairs to the lounge to meet the kids and freinds from the wedding and I never heard him leave, or come back hours later. I woke feeling better, slight headache, but not sick, thank goodness

Sometimes I have to remind myself, it is only 2 weeks and I have to take it easy yet, and allow myself to be tired..

3 weeks down. Wow, thats gone by so fast.

I wanted to take a moment to say here and everywhere, THANKS to all the Vets and Thanks to my baby boy, Kyle!

One of my major life stresses was having my youngest Kyle, in the Army,
Fort Drum 10th Mountain Calvery. He did 2 tours in Afghanistan during the beginning of operations there and and a year in Iraq and patrolling the Abu Grade Prison grounds. Horrible times.

He was 17 when 9/11 happened. He was determined at that time to go into the Army. They thank goodness told him he had to graduate and then he could join. No I didn't like it at all. I didn't try talking him out of it, I just kept talking to him. This boy had never even been away from home for church camp!

Well, he left a little boy and came home a man. And a man that I am so proud of. He is now married and has a baby girl.

Yes it was difficult, no I would never want to do that again but yes I will ALWAYS be proud of him for what he did for us, him and his country.

Wow, 4 weeks have flown by! I get to move to a new food category too. Soft foods. So now I can add cooked veggies, chicken and turkey, cooked fruit and beans. I thought I would never get out of pureed. I was so looking forward to an egg then when the time came that I could have one....eh it wasn't so hot.

Luckily I have not been sick to my stomach yet or even felt like I might be. I did have a very umcomforatble evening after I tried white fish. I am not sure what caused it, eating too many bites? too fast? Too tough of fish? I just knew I was uncomfy, clammy and had to do something, so I went for a walk around the neighborhood. It worked, what ever was wrong felt all better.

I decided to wait before I tried that kind of fish again. I have been very lucky with salmon though. And I try to get tuna in a few times a week for the protien value.

I have been kinda anxious to start eating more foods as I leave for Mexico on Monday and a little nervous about that. I know there will be plenty of fish though.

I weigh in again on December 4th at my 6 week check-up. I just know all will go well.

Ellie
