Thanks for all the great support, everyone. It was definitely needed.

I'm really, really tired right now, so I'm just going to be doing some reading, eat a bit of pudding, and take a nap. It does feel good to be home, though!

Glad you're home, honey! Sorry about the text message thing, LOL. Normally, it will pop up with your name and not your number, once it's entered and that one didn't for some reason.

Keep up with the walk, rest, sip and repeat though

I've been finding it hard to get in enough fluids. I sip all damn day it seems like. I just took a too-big drink of protein shake, so I'll be typing until I'm not in pain.

I officially finished a full liter of water today. That's good, but not "enough." I still have a couple hours before bedtime to get in some more...

I've been walking -- boy have I been walking! I did almost a mile with my neighbor last night, and today hubs and I did about 3/4 mile... but today I was very, very weak. Not enough protein! Or water!

How... annoying...

The weekend before surgery, I was so pumped about it. Scared, too... but mostly excited. As I laid there waiting for my sleepy cocktail, I cried.

I remember them getting me awake enough to take out the ventilator, and I remember fighting to breathe with it there. They took it out, I muttered a thank you, and passed back out.

Suddenly I was being moved to a room and everyone was there waiting for me... everyone had cheezy gift shop things for me, I loved it. Dad had a big pink and green turtle balloon that said, "Wishing you a speedy recovery," Mom had a couple roses, hubby had a pirate chest, and my best friend had a bamboo. Okay, so I liked the bamboo and the balloon the best.

By 5 or 6 p.m. I was up walking. My surgeon wanted me to do 10 laps around the floor per hour. I made three. I went out again after hubby left and I couldn't sleep. I made my 10.

I was very hindered by what I dubbed my "leash." Not the IV, but the catheter. Hate and loathing for that thing!

The next day, I think after they got tired of seeing me with the pee bag in the hallway, they decided to take it out. I spent the night again, and I even woke up to go potty! But they'd taken away my morphine pump! And a vampire came and bit me at 3 a.m.!

I was whisked away before breakfast to swallow some funky smelling yellow crud, and my doctor laughed at me for swallowing too much air. He's been calling me a know-it-all, and said this was a rookie mistake, but not to feel bad because even though I know everything doesn't mean I have any practice with it. I told him that yes, indeed, I do know everything but I can't possibly remember it all at once. Good times had while checking for leaks.

Later that day they took out my drain and sent me packin'!

So far, I haven't lost anything but some brain cells to morphine and vicodin, and maybe a small amount of dignity from going to Wally World in my PJ's. Okay, maybe just the brain cells. But it's still early!

I hopped on my Wii fit board to check my weight yesterday. Minus five pounds! Two thumbs up! I'll have to get on it again tomorrow before I go to my checkup and see what the difference is between that and my doc's scale.

Last night I took a walk with my BFF and my neighbor. We did about 1.25 miles. My knees are crazy angry at me today.

I've been doing arm circles and tricep workouts with canned soup to try to tone them. I'm disgusted with the flappy look already (although I was a month ago, and have been working on them since I noticed they started getting flappy). Yes, flappy. Not just flabby. I can probably glide like a pteradactyl.

I'm a little bit behind in school now, especially since I took off an extra half-week. I know it means that I just need to do an extra hour or two of work each day to catch up... but I still can't really concentrate very well.

I'm doing a little better on the protein side of things. Yesterday, I was just shy of 40g. Today I'm shooting for 50g, but I've been a little slow on my water so far this morning.

I also started saving my change for plastic surgery. It'll take me a few years to save up change for that, anyway. I've been wanting to get my boobs lifted for a few years now, and that's not likely to change two or three years from now, either.

Hey Goober-how's it gong, sister sleever? It took a few weeks or me to get my strength up and even longer to feel "normal", but at 5 mos. out, I do feel normal and can, though I continue to not, eat anything again. Hope you are making good progress. I know you can!

Another thing that's making me apprehensive about being really active or anything, is that my steri-strips are coming off, and they sometimes get caught on my shirt and pull -- which hurts because the dermabond isn't ready to let go yet! The site where my drain was is RIGHT where my seatbelt shoulder strap goes... so it's not comfy to drive, either, although I have been the last few days because I have to. And I'm only taking the vicodin at night before bed. Usually I sit out here in the living room until I am ready to drop. Last night, I went to bed at the same time as hubby, and well -- pain killers make me SO chatty. He was annoyed that I kept him up while running my trap for almost an hour.

I've been sleeping with my extra king-sized pillow over my stomach so that if my son crawls up into our bed in the middle of the night, I'm less likely to have an ouchie situation. He's a good snuggle buddy, though, and honestly I think he *likes* having that pillow there! (He's 3 1/2)

I also have one incision that rubs against my bra when I sit, and to my surprise, people don't really seem to notice I'm not wearing one. I guess they just don't look! I have hubby help me put one on when I go out walking, though. I think I might take him and the kiddo with me before it gets dark tonight. I'd like to think I'll feel more normal once I can put the stupid contraption on myself.

15g of protein in so far today, and I'm making a protein lemonade to go... I can't wait until I get my chocolate and cherry flavors from Vitalady. It'll be much easier to drink the flavors I find I like more. With that, dinner, and a possible shake after walking... I should surpass my protein goal for the day!

I went on a hunt for Greek yogurt today. Fage's site's store locator indicated the Super Target next to hubby's work carried their stuff, but when I stopped in, they haven't had it in almost a month. I had to go to Safeway anyway for some Focaccia bread for hubby and a can of refried beans for me for next week (I'm seriously looking forward to those...), and I found Oikos Greek yogurt from Stoneyfield Farm. I bought some and divvied it up into 4 equal parts in my small ziploc bowls. I went crazy loving my little kitchen scale for more than just weighing guinea pigs. I got the kind that has some honey in it, I left most of the honey at the bottom of the container, though. The supermarket closest to me carries it in the bigger tubs (I just got off the phone with them), and since all the other places that carry Fage are not really on my route to/from schools, or close to home, I think this might be what I end up with. I may stop and get Fage after pay day, though, at least to try it. Upon further inspection, Oikos has 2g more protein than Fage per serving, anyway.

Great, now that I've got all that out, I won't have as much to come up with for my blog today!

Fat free refried beans = nasty. Even with salsa and fat free cheese.

I've been on pureed foods for a week now. Chicken tastes absolutely nasty to me. But I sure was digging on tuna salad. Ham salad was a nice change of pace. And spicy beef was delish.

My big tub of Oikos greek yogurt is coming up on its expiration date, so I made tzatziki sauce yesterday. YUM. I make mine with dill, though. (and of course, greek yogurt, cucumbers, a little garlic, a tiny drizzle of EVOO, a few twists of pepper, a couple pinches of salt, a bit of lemon juice..) I made up an ice cube tray filled with it so I can keep them in the freezer for a while and just take one out when I want some with whatever I'm eating.

Last week on Friday, hubby and I were supposed to go out with another couple, and my parents took our son for the night. He was sick, so I went out to a honky tonk/bar with my neighbor for some live music. IN MY THRIFT STORE SIZE 24 JEANS! When I started my pre-op diet, I was in a size 28. I wore my "wedding" ring (it's actually my great-grandmother's, which I paid to have cleaned and resized myself), so I got passed over a lot, but I finally had an older gentleman come dance with me. I was rockin' my water with limes in a cocktail glass. It was all fun until my ring started slipping off my finger. I had to move it to my right hand so I didn't lose it. Honest! I was about 330 when I had that ring resized!

Even more impressive... I danced 2 songs in a row without getting winded. And I always pretend I can't two-step, but I always get suckered into it. The older guy started actually hitting on me, so we decided (my neighbor and I) that it was time to jet.

I finally weigh less than my husband, and we no longer bottom out the car on the bump in the driveway to the apartment complex's parking lot.

I got Dance Dance Revolution, DISNEY GROOVES for my Wii along with Wii Fit Plus. I start out with yoga and a few balance games on the Wii Fit, and then move to dancing a bit until my knees hurt... usually something like 4 songs. It's great fun, but my son gets really frustrated and doesn't want to play. He likes to watch me and yell out the directions of my arrows, though!
