I'd use Gallbladder as my excuse if I hadn't had it out over christmas! Lol Thats part of the reason i'm nervous about this... I was just out of work for 4 weeks in Dec/Jan recovering from that situation (it was an emergancy and couldn't have been helped - which was too bad because my WLS Doc said he would have removed it and done my surgery right then... but I didn't know and live too far from my WLS hospital).

I'm nervous about being out of work again for so long.... I am holding off on telling her until after the wedding.

I had set the stage for surgery last summer... having had so many appointments for this thing the first time around. I told her that it was likely that I would have to have surgery at some point but that I wasn't sure. She'd ask if I was ok (obviously trying to get me to tell her what was going on) and i just said, "Yes, I will be... don't worry, I'm not dying or anything!" and would laugh and leave it at that.

I'll probably just say something like "Do you remember how I told you that there was a possibility that I might have to have surgery last summer? Well, the time has come and so I will need to be away from work for a few weeks toward the end of August." and tell her that its sort of personal and I would prefer not to talk about it.

Its just hard to play private when you are really open with pretty much everything! You know?

Default so... its done.

Well, i finally got there... 2 weeks ago I had a laproscopic RNY and I'm going out of my mind.

I can't bring myself to look a this mush anymore.... I stare into the fridge and its assortment of yogurt and applesauce and soup and I want to cry.

Just looking at it makes me sick to my stomach. And I'm not hungry at all so I have to force-feed myself this slop that I find repulsive and I have absolutely no motivation... I am only eating it because I HAVE to... and half the time I end up tossing it back up again.

I have 2 more weeks of this.... can anyone help me??

Hi, I've just been reading through your posts and hope that you are feeling somewhat better by now. I do remember that those first 2 or 3 weeks after the RNY were pretty horrible. Our fridge was loaded with the same as yours and yes I remember looking at the slop the same as you and wondering if I would ever eat anything close to normal again. I am now 3 months out and have been enjoying some "normal" things and feeling much better. The weight loss has been pretty sweet too. Just hang in there kid and things will improve for you. Hope to hear from you soon. All the best.
