Thanks for the encouragment! I'm feeling great! I worked a bit this morning, I'm fortunate that I can work from home a few days a week. Then after getting stressed about some work..I thought I'd go for a run. So I went and ran 4 miles, swam half a mile and now back at my desk. I'm amazed how much energy I have, but also that I'm not hungry. Just sitting here drinking my Crystal light with Unjury and eating some garlic shrimp.

Default Being your own worst enemy

So Last Friday I did it! 60 lbs in 4 months. Even ran and biked that day..
Then Friday night some relatives stayed over night.

We watched a movie and they asked me to make my world famous home made better then movie theater popcorn. I ate it! my little pouch seems to have no problem with popcorn of any type! I had handfuls while watching a movie..then da wife had an intermission and made all the fmaily and relatives chocolate malts. I've avoided that temptation but not Friday night! Had abou 1.5 cups of the stuff.

NO DUMPING! I seem to have no trouble with that.

Saturday arrives... VERY busy day working on the newest addition to our family a new pontoon boat that I worked on all day to get water ready. Don't eat much, drink even less...maybe 40 oz's all day. I did get a run in once again but bad diet, Then we go to HUGE Festival called Festa Italiana. You listen to music, eat eat eat and watch fireworks. once again whole family and relatives. They run in every direction both gathering their favorite foods from this once a year italian festivel They come back to the picknic table with: Mozarrella sticks, sour cream and chive fries, Eggplant, Italian Parmesian chicken style. I compose myself have a few strips of eggplan and eat 4 ozs of the chicken with just chicken no bun, half a fried mozareela stick..and pass on the fries. We then walk... "oh hey these rice balls iwth sausage fried and breaded are supposed to be good" I take about 5 forkfulls... not feeling full, no dumping. I go on a ride that spins you round and round and the floor drops out... NO dumping even after eating all that and going on a ride. We find a spot for fireworks... Now family comes back with Amaretto puffs...I LOVE em but I pass. My son goes and gets' Cinamana and butter covered Pecan's which I LOVE! I eat handfulls. no problem. My dad goes and gets popcorn I eat some of that as well....ahhhhh I know I'm gonna pay for this!!!!!

Sunday, I get back to eating better, but the whole day was spent with my toys ATV'ing then off on our Pontoon (rough life). I do better drinking, but have 2 venison sticks..thats ont bad for you is it? Eat well, but wondering what the scale god will say.

Monday morning arrives. I get on the scale..tick tick tick tick. AHHHHHHHHHHHH my first weight gain ever! Friday morning 246 lbs, Monday morning 249.5 lbs!!!! What did I do to myself! Monday. back to drinking (144 oz's today) lean protein, eggs, unjury and tilapia (90 grams of protein)....
So, we shall see what Tuesday brings on the scale....

Could I have my first full week with NO loss or GASP a weight gain..all because of poor judgement for 2 days. I think hitting that almight 60 lbs gone along with relatives staying with us had me in old ways. So hard to create a habit, so easy to break it!

Wish me luck with the Scale God on Tuesday. I'm hoping he's not as angry with me.

I feel like the picture...! Ladies don't get too turned on.

Hey marc, you are the man! I like hearing the good and the bad - keepin it real is what I'm saying. ;-) Just reading where you said "I thought I'd go for a run. So I went and ran 4 miles, swam half a mile and now back at my desk. I'm amazed how much energy I have, but also that I'm not hungry. Just sitting here drinking my Crystal light with Unjury and eating some garlic shrimp" - that is AWESOME!

Also, your pictures look great. Did you go shopping for new clothes? Or are you waiting to get down to a certain weight range? Not to put you on the spot or put your business "int the streets", but are you having an "improved" sex life? Don't feel compelled to resopond to that question, but just wondering.

Although I'm newrvous about my surgery, I'm motivated by seeing your results and the many other results posted in this forum. It seems like everyone is doing great. What scares me is how your body reacts to you recent weight gain and whether you start taking on a trend of eating not-as-healthy as I see it's easy to fall back into. Any thoughts on that?

Stay awesome, chief!

Default Zach Attach

Hi Zachary,, I'm sure I'm spelling your name wrong. Thanks for the words!

I guess when I read your post I put it in perspective...yea..is pretty awesome that I can run and swim and not eat much. I just took a work break (working from home today) I ran 3.1 miles then swam hard for 20 minutes..now at my desk once again..this time with 6 oz's of tilapia..had a few bites and feeling pretty full.. Not tired. Tonight I'm taking my boys to the Hockey arena for some Summer warm up Hockey skating before they have a hockey camp next week. I haven't been on skates since February when I weighed 315. I'll be interested to see what skating is like at 247 lbs (yep that's what the scale god was this morning). I'll be 69 lbs lighter then the last time I skated!

Clothes..a little on purpose I had my surger in March, knowing that I could swim bike and run the lbs off in April through October when it was nicer out here in Wisconsin. Also with that,, in summer you wear less clothing, so I've been lucky that I had some clothes in 2 bins from when I hit 255 lbs 5 years ago. I've been wearing the same 8 shirts and 5 pairs of pants to work. I finally had to give in and got by 2 new pair of work pants size 42 waist 32 length. I used to wear a 46 x 34 but as i lost weight I could wear a shorter pant size. I also went and bought a few new work shirts I now fit into a 17 neck size by 34 arm length! Thats an XL! No more 2 and 3 x's for me! But I'm trying to be cheap and buy as Little as possible.

Your question at the end was a good one. My Sex life is GREAT (Just don't let my wife know).......Just kidding. Actually, well I have heard of others ramping up, but for some reason my wifes and mine has not. I think that's more life though getting in the way. We both work full time day jobs, run our 2 sport clip haircut franchises in our spare time (like me staying up till 1 A.M. to do business stuff and my wife getting up at 4 A.M to do the books for that business), and finding all the time we can for our great 3 kids, doesn't leave much time for "playing in the sandbox" togethor.

But, we have our first night away from the kids in 15 months this Saturday. How about I let you know after that. I'm thinking of packing my Latex superman suit with the super love beads, the gift that keeps giving. Or since its a wedding maybe we should roleplay, I can play the part of a wedding crasher trying to hook up with one of the wedding guests and find her. Do you think you can get kicked out of a wedding hall if we "partake of their coat room?"

I'm trying to encourage my wife to look into the surgery as well as an option, just an option. I'm now at my 8th grade weight of below 250. I told my wife if she got back to her high school weight I don't think I'd be doing anything but thinking about what I'd be doing to her in the bedroom round the clock. So I'm on this journey right now , I'd love for my wife to come along for the ride. She seems more interested in me, but I think I've been more preoccupied. My sex drive has not increased. I did notice in the beginning my little soldier stood at attention better starting at about 260lbs. Lately the little soldier (nicknamed pedro) hasn't been as at attention lately...but it could be all up in my brain with life items going on.

Do you think the attached picture would be good outfits for us as a couple to wear to the Wedding?

Hey Marc,

I appreciate the compliment - and back at ya! Yeah, hopefully weight loss will help me in the dating department. Ideally, I could find the love of my life now and she would be even more pleasantly surprised when I lost weight. So if you know of a single, sexy woman, feel free to point her my way! ;-)

As far as those pictures, I dunno what to say! LOL It would certainly make things interesting!

Thanks for the motivation and keep up the hard work!

Default 239.8

Hit under 240 lbs today. Whoa..feels surreal. I haven't been that size since grade school. Keep hearing I look so much thinner and younger..but I just don't see it. Look in the mirror I see the same guy, same chest, same gut...brain not catching up..I don't know, wierd. I'm waiting for the scale to play its cruel joke it ALWAYS has my whole life...get some good momentum then whammo the scale starts to go back up. All this time, all this excercise, all this regimented weighing and eating right..and still nervous as H&LL that scale will start going back up.. This isn't a dream I hope. I hope this time it sticks!

I feel I have a long ways to go. I at first thought I wanted to hit 220. Now I'm thinking 200. Can I do 40 more lbs? With all the excercise and STRICTLY eating protein only I'm not sure. Fall will come and I will start pulling back aerobic excercise a wee bit and start adding weight lifting to the mix. That will increase my muscle mass even more.

So, heres to the first 65 plus lbs gone and rooting for the next 40 to go!

Another challenging day at work today but a good day personally staying strict. 120 grams o protien 110 of liquid and no feeling hungry.

Ran 4 miles at 6 tonight. Last 500 yards I did a full out sprint (which for most normal runners probably looked like a galloping Moose with asthma) but I've never run that fast in my life as I did tonight. No knee pain. Just finishing up with work files from our business, now going into the pool to swim a mile at 10:30 at night. I'm on a mission to hit 230 by the time my kids go back to school.

People have NO clue how regimented and strict you have to be to succeed at this. Once again why I chose not to share with others of my WLS. The surgery is the easy part, its training your brain that takes time.

I have noticed so many people (at least guys) that I have followed threads they created,,,that, after a few months they have some success and they stop posting. As my doctor suggested this is my journal for myself...but I promise to continue my journey with postings until I reach my goal...that goal I still have yet to determine. I have the feeling those that keep true to their journals may have better success. Keep telling your stories out there!

It's a good life.

Marc

P.S. I think this older gal took her WLS a little too far.
