Just wanted to mention something to you. I see you use those Profect protein vials. They contain collagen protein, which is not very well absorbed. So you are probably not getting as much protein from them as you think you are. Unjury, on the other hand, contains whey isolate, which is much better absorbed. You're better off focusing on that instead.

Collagen Protein? Isn't that what's in Angelina Jolie's lips, or what they inject in butt's or something? I wonder how much Protein is actually absorbed of the 25 gram 100 calorie shot I take? Any clue?

Default 10.5 weeks out, eating out, pants and other stuff

Well, It's been 10.5 weeks hit my 2nd plateau. I'm sitting at 260.2 lbs for the past 5 days. At week 10 I had lost a total of 46 lbs, an average of 4.6 lbs per week so I am not complaining. I noticed the last 2 weeks I averaged 4 to 5 lbs lost per week, but with the nice weather I did a couple things right.

I weighed EVERYTHING, I had 100 plus grams protein a day and liquids. Since last Thursday, not so good at the weighing or water thing. Also Saturday on a 50 degree rainy day, my family and I went and saw a movie, I ate popcorn! I had a bite or 2 at first, but by middle of the movie I had probably 8 small handfuls, one after the other! No consequences to that and that scares me! No pukey, no toilet runs, nothing...so I truly have to watch what I put in my mouth as I may not get the "bad choice revenge".

I think my plateau has hit the past 5 days as I have not worked out for 3 of those days at all, where I typically swim hard for 35 minutes, run 2 miles bike 20 or weight lift.

So I need to get back to basic's, weigh everything, 100 of proten and liquid and excercise! 5 day plateau I do not want to turn into 2 or 3 weeks, in years past this would be the beginning of me eating worse. Not this time, to much at stake, too much time given to work at this!

On "aha" notes. I had to attend a luncheon with a table of 15 different business owners at my table, now in years past I would have focused a bit on conversation but really dug into my food and of course the desert. This was at our Local Italian Community Center, an absolute stunning piece of Architecture and culinary expertise in the Midwest, Presidents have spoken here. Anyways the food shows up and I picked at it ever so gently, but an amazing thing happened the time I Didn't spend eating I got to focuse on other people at my table, find out their stories, learn about them. WLS gave me the opportunity to be a much better LISTENER. In business and in personal life we all like to surround ourselves with those that want to hear "our story". WLS gave me the opportunity to hear those stories and make some great contacts.

No one is asking me about how I'm losing weight anymore. It just seems to be "Oh Marc, is watching what he is eating and excercising" No question's about "did I have surgery" like I thought I would get. It's a FAST gradual decline and my concerns of everyone whispering "he must have had surgery and took the easy way out" are unfounded.

I have been lucky that all my clothes fit better but I haven't had to run out and buy a bunch of new stuff. This weekend my wife finally made me go through my closet. My concern in my mind was, I can't get rid of this stuff, what if I gain all the weight back like I did in the past? If you read my first few posts you know I had lost 50 lbs 5 years ago, by doing atkins and doing Triathlons and working out 2 hours a day 7 days a week. I got to 255 and it lasted about 2 weeks before I started gaining weight back (right after I stopped working out 2 hours per day). So my brain was telling me "hey you can't get rid of the clothes, you may and probably will get fat again!" But my wife made me get rid of the clothes.. I had 2 containers of dress shirts, pants and a great Custom suit I had made 5 years ago.. Try'd em all on this weekend and all the 17.5 size shirts fit! The 42 inch waist pants fit. Goodbye 46 inch pants! I'm almost to a XL in a shirt. Summer is here so I think I can get by with minimal clothing (naked in summer is always preferalbe but get's you stared at). By August I hope to be a size 40 waist or lower.

Lastly, Shield your eye's ladies. I have found as I lose more weight my Dickie Do (for most guys their waist sticks out farther then their "dickie's do") seems to be enjoying the journey. Peeing better, never would have guessed that! It looks a little..ahem healthier, I honestly believe it's blood flow and less weight pressure surrounding the little soldier. Lastly the little soldier definately appears to be "standing at attention" better.

Well we shall see what the end of week 11 brings...still at my plateau of 260 or will the scale have moved further on down the line. 256 lbs would be my 50 lb marker..I sooo want to hit that!

Thanks Angel Eyes...wow that is a pretty picture of you..what a great smile!

To all that read..I had a GREAT weekend. We went to our cottage we rent and I swam the long lenght of our lake (about one mile) in 29 minutes flat today! After that, I attached a rope to our boat tube and dragged my 160 lb son another 1/8 of a mile along the shore and back. Got out of the lake and I felt terrific! Last year doing that..I'd hunger for chips and soda..this year...

Umm...can I have a crystal light with a scoop of unjury please! A couple pics of our lake.

I'm 4 lbs away from losing 50 lbs. This friday will be my 12 week anniversary..I hope I can hit the 50 lb's lost by then. I have hit a plateau the past 8 days. I'm hoping the long distance swimming and the 20 mile bike rides I'm doing help kick that weight loss back in to place.

Still only have about 4-5 oz's of food 3 times per day..pretty much Tilapia and shrimp..and about 110 oz's crystal light with 2 scoops of unjury a day.

With what I'm eating and drinking and excercising I kinda thought the lbs would melt off..not the case...but as my doctor said.."because your so active Marc you are probably also building muscle.

I'll give an update with New pictures comparing week one to week 12 at the end of this week. Until then have a great week everyone..heres a few pics of the lake and my 160 lb son that I got to drag in the lake..and yes. he is a boy and he is getting his nails painted... Glad he walks to the Beat of his own drummer.

Default At some point...

...it just starts coming off slowly.

Love the lake. Ours in now 86 DegF. Perfect temp for a Texan. I shudder to think what your lake temp is. Brrrrr.

Good for you on the exercise. and I agree, youre prob building muscle, which is a good thing.

I spent the weekend on the Lake too, on Les Bon Temps. Posted some pics in Aviator's log book for you to have a look at. Several post and now you have to kinda drill backwards to get to them.

Nice family BTW. My kids and grandkids are here for a while starting next weekend.

We have had a VERY cold spring here in Wisconsin. So Water temperature is 75 degrees....brrrr is right..but once you get swimming you adjust. let's me push hard..but boy oh boy it pulls all the energy out of you afterwards.

More and more I think I should move to Texas. I have to come visit Austin for 2.5 days July 27th through the 29th. Maybe I should be looking for a house!

When ever someone asks me where Im from, I say, "I was born in the Nation's Capital."

"D.C.?" they always ask.

"No, Austin!!" is my reply. Im a native son of Austin. It is so lovely and I love to visit. Make sure you go out to Lake Travis and have some nachos at the Oasis at sunset. They say they are the best sunsets in Texas. I argue that.... I have the best right here on Lake Conroe. Just look in my profile pics. Enjoy your trip to Austin. Would love to hear about it.
