Default Weight tied to your Mental performance.

Don't have time to give my in depth 6 week diary update..its coming..scary pictures and all.

But amazing. The month after Surgery I had my BEST month ever for Sales, and that's saying a lot from 16 years of sales. Better mental state?

And my side business (full time Franchise owner, but since I have a full time day job I have to call my 2nd full time job an investment) Anyways. I gave classes to my staff in Late April.....and Both my Sport Clips Franchises after my classes/ pep ralley motivational seminars I gave to staff..well now both of those stores are posting THEIR best sales ever since I opened em 2.5 years ago!

Can weight be tied to your mental fortitude..appears so. Pizza and shakes have done more then ruin my body, they ruined my brain and that in turn impacted my checkbook.

I look forward to taking on the world, kicking ass and taking names both professionaly and personally in the year to come.

The 6 week update to follow when I can find time away from jobs and spending the most important thing I do..spending time with my kids!

(somewhere in there my wife is getting short handed I think)

Default My Life

Well almost 8 weeks out, I'll post new pictures and a longer post come Friday at the 2 month marker. I read other's post and think...what the )(*)(*&&**(. How'd they lose so much weight so fast?

I'm averaging 2 lbs a week.

My Life.

What I'm eating and all I"m pretty much eating.

Shrimp
Fajita chicken from a bag at Sam's club, sprinkled with cheese
sliced turkey
2 Egg's for breakfast, sloppy with piece of 35 calorie bread..takes 40 minutes to eat that one.

WATER WATER WATER

I Use UNJURE every day...stomach can finally handle it, either in milk or in crystal light

and PROFECTA...little vials that pack 25 grams of protein per 100 calories.

But only eating 4 oz's at a sitting..absolutely no more..stomach can't handle.

3 meals a day.

and Liquid and the protein liquid supllements of unjure and profecta.

100 oz's liquid day, 90-105 grams protein a day.

Aerobics-EVERY day, bike, run or eliptical every day. Gotten running up to 2 blocks then walk then run then walk...45 minutes.

Weightlifting upper body and ab excercises every other day 40 minutes.

So losing slower as I'm working out so much? Hmm?

Will see what the 8 week numbers say as of Friday. Numbers and pictures to follow

(side note 8 weeks and gotten sick now twice, once a few day after surgery for a few days..and now 7 weeks and a few days later sick again...chest, nose thing, no energy...surgery have something to do with sick more? Or just having 3 little kids 10, 6, 5 giving me their germs...hmmmm) can't work out when feel this tired and sick.

Only 21 lbs to go though and I'll be at a weight lower then I was in 8th GRADE!!!!!!! 250 here I come!

Default Lymes Diseas Picture at 16 and now

So if you've read my first post at 16 I contracted Lymes Disease...and with that Spinal Meningitis. I lost All my hearing over night on my 16th Birthday and 4 days later lost all my sight for a few days.

Sight came back and then had 10 months of hell, including having my heart revived twice. What did all those things do to me besides give me a passion for life today? Well at the time...they had to put me on steroids to keep me alive, massive doses of steroids. With that came my gift that keeps on giving of man boobs as well. In my next post you'll see I still have em...but I thought the below pictures were pretty Telling.

At 16, deaf, couldn't see for awhile, no real frieinds (high school can be cruel when your the sick kid that has gained so much weight in the hospital). I pushed through the brick wall though. First picture I was 300 lbs plus.

2nd picture. Taken this evening. 21 years can make a difference in a persons life. Who would have thought back then that today I would be so successful. As Jimmy Buffett once sang, "3 Swell Kids, and a lovely wife". On top of that the house of my dreams, (most) of the toys I've wanted & Lastly...... FINALLY I'M GETTING MY HEALTH.

It's never to early to start living life to the fullest.

Default 2 Month Update & Pictures

I noticed differences mostly in my face. But at 2 months I thought I would be further along then I am…don’t we all! I read the losses of some people and think..boy what am I doing wrong.

So at 2 months …..*Music*Drum Roll*
Started day of surgery at 306 lbs.
As of this morning I’m at 268 lbs.
Down 38 lbs.
I was hoping for 40..20 lbs a month…but at 38 that’s 4.75 lbs per week…don’t think I could ask for more.

What’s changed:
Well My brain is finally catching up with the surgery. I no longer want to make sweet love to a pizza when it rolls out of our oven (fold it in half it can look tempting). Sugary snacks….Hey give me some water or Crystal Light please and I’ll shut by stomach down which in turn will shut my brain down a wee bit.

Learning how to re-eat has been challenging, especially working the crazy schedule I do. I’m one of the blessed ones that gets to work 2 full time jobs, one during the day at the bank helping Senior Citizens and at nights and weekends running my Sport Clips Franchises. Yes there are still capitalists out there and yes we do employ people. But that schedule makes it hard to fit in food and drink.

So, my secrets.

Water bottles. 6 of em a day, to get in my protein I’m up to between 90 to 100 grams a day.

• All I eat: Chicken, Tilapia, Shrimp (Lots of it, and not cheap up here in Wisconsin), Eggs and these little tiny boxes of chicken salad and crackers they sell at a food store called Aldi.

• Drink: I found it on this web site: PROFECT! THANK YOU to whoever posted about this stuff! 25 grams of protein in a vial that you can do in 2 sips. Doesn’t taste the best, not the worst but 25 grams of protein in 100 calories! Awesome. UNJURY! Once again..Whoever posted this THANK YOU! A scoop packs 20 grams of protein…I wasn’t doo all too well with milk and with whey protein from health stores and wal mart. This stuff is ISOLATE protein and goes down so much easier! Put with Crystal light or with milk. Works great.

Do a Scoop of UNJURY a Day, Do a Vial of Profect a day combined would be 200 calories but packs an amazing 45 grams of protein..and NOTHING unneeded, sugar alcohols or anything funny. Pure protein.

Before I found these combinations I was one cranky guy at times.. just not much energy. As I work out more I needed Easy to burn Protein fuel. Can’t get much Easier then PROFECT and UNJURY.

I still find I cannot eat more than 4 oz’s of food at a serving ..However tonight I did eat a piece of 6 oz tilapia fresh off the grill right after biking 15 miles. No problems keeping it down.

I have not dumped yet…of course I have put NOTHING in my mouth with any real sugar or any taboo items at parties. I have not thrown up yet. I’m scared of overeating and getting that feeling, so at 4 oz’s or less I feel myself becoming full and I just quit.

I typically have not been following the weight (pun intended) 30 minutes before fluids. More like 15 minutes after I eat.
Snack for me. Peanuts in a shell takes time to crack em and eat em, and fudgesicles.

*Poop department. Take Activa a few times a week..but usually doesn’t get the stool a moving..so Milk of Magnesia twice a week has been helping. At times like that bathroom scene out of dumb and dumber, ceramic sweet bliss.

Exercise: I know I only have a good 6-9 months to lose as much as possible. Stepping up my exercise, but between job #1, Job #2, playing and running with the 3 kids not as much time as I’d like. I would say on average I get in 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 times per week.

I’m all of those 5 days doing aerobic exercise. Running is up to 45 minutes to an hour, run walk run walk, Eliptical is up to 45 minutes getting a great sweat, biking I’m up to an hour at times and gone as far as 20 miles.

Weight lifting. I have man boobs from Lymes Disease, surgeries & Steroids that were administered to keep me alive at 16. I know as I get smaller I probably will continue to have man boobs. So 3 times per week I am weight lifting 30-45 minutes. Upper chest, Arms, Upper back, Upper side Core muscles Stomach Crunchers and leg lifts. I want my man boobs to be as small as they can as I get smaller,,but most likely will require surgery. I know that your core muscles need to be strong. So lot of ab work, Straight Leg Lifts and abs… in the next month I want to ad Push Ups.

So, I keep working at it. So nervous that I will plateu as I have worked out a lot in the past..and seen NO weight loss and many times have gained weight.
So I want to keep my muscle mass up. I know I could continue to lose weight without exercise..but I’d be a skinnier fat person. Smaller, but most of my weight loss would be muscle and the fat would remain a bit more. Exercise and weight lifting I think will keep me a bigger guy, but also more muscle in stead of fat.

Goals I’m hoping to achieve by end of Month 3

Weight: 250…can I lose 18 in a month? Doubtful..but we shall see

Protein: Up to 110 grams a day

Liquid up to 110 oz’s a day

Exercise: Hope to be up to regularly 25 miles biking, I want to get to 3.1 miles running and will start open lake swimming long distance. I have 4 lakes within 3 minutes of my home.

Goal for Early July then to do my first Sprint Triathlon.
So for now, baby step, keep eating right, drinking right and not getting so busy I just grab food and eat on the run.

When I got to this point 5 years ago on my own without WLS and people started to comment that I was looking better I started to slip…oh this piece of cake won’t hurt me, oh, why not a small McDonalds Shake. Not this time! A $34,000 surgery, changing my eating habits and having my stomach cut open will continue to be enough work that I will not sabotage myself.

I have included my pictures showing the difference from day one after surgery to 8 weeks after surgery. What a difference in my face.

To all of you on your journey, continued success.

Default Down the Big 40!

Wow..hit is in 8 weeks and 2 days! 40 lbs gone! 266lbs.

Noticed I may need to by some new work clothes..droopy drawers on the back side doesn't look good.

The fat around my tummy is not hard like it used to be its more like jello...seems as its coming off the skin is taking a bit to catch up.

Owning a few hair salons for men...modern day barbershops. I swear by a Paul Mitchell product called Tea Trea Hair and Body moisturizer. It has so many good things in it for the skin to help, mainly it moisturizes with some key ingredients, but I'm hoping as I get smaller it helps my skin stay closer to the body then without it.

Today taking my boys out to the ATV trail to do some dirt riding. Feels a whole lot different taking an atv off a jump when your 40 lbs lighter. And in the morning I wake up and every bone in my body doesn't hurt.

I have just in 8 weeks and 2 days lost as much weight as my daughter weighs....wow!

Default 40 lbs riding on the back

Well instead of having 40 lbs around my waist..I now get to have 40 lbs riding behind me on the ATV (my youngest, Marina and I in the picture). A good time was had on Memorial day, by me, my wife and 3 kids. Losing weight can be very freeing..I'm beginning to lose the prison that was once my body.

Default I can really relate marc

Read your update, and I have been thru all those phases. It feels so good to lose - like your skin is a "too tight" sausage casing. The trade of f is that jello effect. I'll take it for now. Im developing a bit of a "pannus" so a tummy tuck is probably in my future. Dunno.

As I pen these words, I am in Dubai, and have not stepped on a scale in over a week. Lots travel this trip, Bombay India, Dubai, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. All in a week! Damn! Missed the holiday weekend. >Sigh< Not the first time. Nor will it be the last.

You doing well and looking great, amigo.

Im closing in on 70 lbs lost now nearing the five month mark. Not bad with so much travel since surgery. Hope to slow down the travel over the summer and stay home to drive the new boat a little. I pick it up this weekend. Her name is "Les Bon Temps". Will post some photos on Aviator's Log book.

All the best from the Middle East.
