Just got back from my pre-op day. Spent about 6 hours bouncing from dr to dr. Bloodwork, chest x-ray, and Ekg. Had to talk to the nutritionist and pay my deductable- $2560. So, it's offically offical. May 1st is the surgery date and tomorrow starts the high protein liquid diet. Fun, fun!

Just got back from my "last supper". Went to Chinatown buffett. Suprisingly I didn't stuff myself. I had been doing the last supper thing for about a month with certain foods I like. So it wasn't that big of a deal tonight. The only reason we went to the china buffett was it was the closest resturant around. Tomorrow is protiens and liquids.

Travis
You are well on your way to joining the loser bench and I am so excited for you!
Congrats on the smooth transition from one thing to another and your date being so close, mine went that way as well and although kinda shocking it was a great thing.
Stick to that diet, it will be a rough road but it is really needed. Get your water in too!
Keep us posted!

Once again, thank you so much. The liquids have been tough to a degree but not near as bad as I thought. One reason is I get to have 1 piece of fish or chicken daily. I can have grits, which I never knew I liked so much, and some shrimp for a snack. The toughest time for me is between 1-5 pm. All I want to do is snack. Yesterday I ate 3 SF Jello's, 2 SF Popcicles, and a handfull of jalapenos. Reality is starting to set in about the surgery and it's getting more exciting at this point, but I'm sure next week it will get a little scary. Other than this dang sinus infection I can't believe how good I feel not eating all that junk. I know I have lost a lbs or two since starting. Thanks again. It's exciting to see someone reply to my story. It gives you that little extra boost you need to keep going.
