Well, my psych evaluation got postponed until next monday morning. We got 9 inches of snow last night and it made everything a mess. I was disappointed, but we had a great time. At one point we had over 20 people at our house sledding down the hill. We grilled out and had a good time with all our friends. It helped me take my mind off missing my appointment.

Just got back from my psych evaluation. It took about 30 mintues and he just asked some basic questions. What my childhood was like (pretty normal), any past history with substance abuse (which there is none), he was running out of things to talk about and he looked at my chart and saw I was afraid of snakes. So he talked about snakes for 15 minutes and pulled his book out to see if I had a phobia or not. Turns out by definition I do not have a snake phobia.

We hardly discussed obesity, WLS, the psychology of over eating, etc... Truth be told I'm a little disappointed. I feel like I paid $236 for him to sign me off as mentally fit to have WLS. I kinda expected it but still a little disappointed.

I hope this isn't the case with all his patients. I feel I am doing this for the right reasons and will handle it fairly well. I know some need to deal with real issues and hope they do not fall through the cracks.

Having said all that, I am through with my prerequistes and my case will now go to the surgeon. The WLS coordinator said I my date could come as early as the end of April or first of May. I will keep you posted. Thanks for everyone's support. God Bless!

Wait you had a BBQ when it was that cold out? I would have been in the house with the heater.
I did read your other post I'm glad that you are on your way to a healthier life. I hope that date comes sooner than later.

Yea, we had a great time! We stayed outside for about 10 hours sledding. Had half the neighborhood up here. Altogether we had about 50 people stop by.

Well, I went to the surgeon's office today and all went well. The Surgeon said I was a great candidate for RNY. I tested negative for H pylori which is good.

My weight was 317 and he said my goal would be 163 and need to loose 154. They are sending it in for insurance approval and hope to hear back in a week. My date is set for May 1st.

I go in for Pre-op April 20th and start my liquid diet april 21st.
