Thanks so much, Mark! I think I would feel even better about it if this other drama wasn't occurring...but....
I just checked my email and I received a message from my aunt out in Colorado (my mom's sister). She wrote:
Jenn how much is your half of the rent? If I can afford it, I'll pay for it for you. You need to start your new life. Your mom told me the bad news about your move.
I can't tell you how much I admire you for calling off an ill-fated wedding, It really does take courage.
I was in shock. I called my mom and told her - she did not know my aunt was going to offer that. My mom just said that she emailed my aunt about it as an FYI, among other stuff. So, my mom was shocked, she also said "maybe I should help your aunt help you out". I said they've already helped me enough. I don't know what to do about it. I asked my mom to call my aunt and see if she's really being serious about it, and told her how much my half of the rent at my current place is.
I still am in shock. I really don't know what to say. My friend told me I should take it, that sometimes you need to do what's best for you and take the gift that's being given/offered. I mean, that's a total of $2400.

Well, I talked to my landlady about my offer of paying half of the rent but still moving out. She said she did not expect me to stay here anyway, she felt that she gave me the verbal go ahead to move and that it's more of my ex's problem than mine, and she said there's no way she'd expect me to pay half. She said she would feel bad if I didn't get to move out now. She wants to talk to my ex tomorrow and see what plan they can come up with. She suggested him posting an ad in craigslist for a roommate. She says either way it's going to "cost all three of us", but she didn't want me to not move.
SO I"M MOVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay Jenn! I'm following your journey, and so excited that your landlady is so accomodating. It's SO time for you to move on! I think you did so emotionally quite awhile ago!

I did not expect this at all. It's like I'm going through the break up all over again, although no anger, just sadness. I guess I really didn't go through much of that when we ended things, because right after I had surgery, then we just stayed friends since we were still living together.
Ok, again it doesn't help that I've been med non-compliant for a few days...just too busy due to the move to think about it.
Anyway, I'm in my new place. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted. I wish I could've taken tomorrow off, but I'm just too damn busy at work as of late. I'm hoping maybe next Monday. I need to take my dog to the vet anyway, she's been having seizures close together lately, rather than months apart.
I've definitely gotten a workout. I was surprised at how much I was able to do and move yesterday. I really didn't run out of energy. I'm very happy that I have energy on my side now.
I'm just 3 lbs 'til onederland. I decided to take some pics to compare with my befores, which I hadn't looked at in quite some time. I honestly can't believe I allowed myself to get to where I was at, but am so happy that I chose to do something about it before it got worse, because I believe it would've just gotten worse and worse.

The first day...
...of the rest of your life. Congrats on the astute problem solving, and now the move to your own place.
I remember well the feelings you are experiencing. My first wife (thirteen years and two children) got a boyfreind, then decided she did not want to be married to me anymore. In Texas, that meant I had to move out into a crappy inner city apartment, leave my home (that I built) and children and AND continue to pay for the house. I never had a girlfriend. Not ever. I was always a good husband, and indulgent, devoted father. She told my friends that I was abusing her - which was a complete lie to cover for her infidelity.
All has worked to the good, however. I met Bones not long after on an airplane.

I am in my new place - a week now, but at what cost on my body? I didn't have a lot of help with the move, so I moved some heavy things myself/with the help I had, and now I'm paying for it. I can feel the soreness internally in my surgery areas, and foods don't seem to be going down as well. It's not really enough to be concerned and call the doc, just enough to be slightly worried and cautious. I haven't really exercised since the move. I did it once but not for the full half hour. I think I was feeling so good I was feeling invincible, but I'm only just over 2 months out. I'm just going to eat soft foods today, give my insides a rest. Most of the foods I eat are soft anyway, but what I mean is very soft stuff like cottage cheese, etc.
