Well, today I am gonna stick to my thread since everyone here is so rouchy... I am doing well with the wqeight loss, decided that I would swich up my workout, did 30 minutes cardio and now added in the weights trying to tone the arms and leg thing. Dont want flabby skin, and really do not want to have mroe surgeies. So I will keep up the excercise and hope that it helps it all out. Down 50 pounds now and feel great. Cant wait to get the rest of the 50 pounds off. Will keep up the protien and water itake and keep out the carbs and fats. Had to break down and buy new shorts this weekend, which was exciting went from a 24/26 to an 18/16 EXCITING......

Been awhile since I posted. My journey for a healthier life is still in full swing. I am doing well. I actually bought pants that I did not try on first and at Costco. It has been forever since that has happened. I am so happy with fact that I can actually buy something and not try it on first. All of the shirts I have a sooooo big. So I now have to look into getting new ones.
I have increased the protien in my diet and the water, however I can not get much in at on etime still. My surgeon stated as long as I am not weak then it is alright since she created a smaller pouch than normal and bypass alot more of the intestines. So as long as I feel good and have energy then it is alright. I am getting in about 600 calories and about 80-90 grams of protien, along with less than 3 grams of sugar a day. So I am happy with this. I am consistantly loosing weight. I have started the weight training along with the treadmill and the bike for cardio. So I know I will not loose alot of weight every week and muscle does weight more than fat. But I am loosing alot of inches each week. I feel fabulous and am so excited that in 7 weeks I will see my parents and see if they notice the difference since February when I went home for grams passing. I am so glad that I finally did the surgery and have recovered so well. I have noticed that the apron of my stomach is shrinking and it does not look as if I will have to have a tuck done because it is toning up really well I do not think I will have the flap. So that really excites me. My arms are beginningto tone so hopefully I wont have to have that done. My chest well from a 42 DD to a 36 DD, but they sag so it looks as if that will be the only thing I will have to have lifted tucked or altered.... So I am just waiting eating well excercising and making sure I enjoy life every day no matter what. Life is tooo short we muc\st enjoy it and live it to the fullest, as you never know when life will take you and where you will end up.

Default Great to see you posting again Dawnelle...

...and all the best to you from Bahrain. It is wonderful to hear about your continued success. When we meet in Hawaii in November, we will both be thin and fit! Our place in Maui is officially booked so I have to figure out how to stay long enough on Oahu for us to meet.

I think I'm down a bit over 50 lbs, but dont really know till I get to weight on the "penultimate scale" at home. Ive been absent a week, but feel like I'm still losing.

The weekend here in the Middle East is Friday and Saturday. It is Sunday morning 9:30am here (note the time diff with tt), and is my traditional day of rest, so Im kicking back today. It is the first opportunity I've had to use the facilities here at the Ritz-Carlton.

Great to see you're still ticking the pounds off, girl. I dont know about you but I feel like Im no longer in the "post-op" phase, but now getting on with my new life reality. This is now the "sustained weight loss" phase - slower but still ticking off pounds.

Looking forward to reaching goal and entering the maintenance phase in a few months (before November).

Ok so, 3 months out today. I have done well. Not having any issues except peanuts, or any oils from peanuts, beef and some vegetable. However today I weighed in and OMG I am no longer in the 220's but the 2 teens, getting closer and closer by the day to be under 200. The day will come and it may be one of the happiest days of my life.
So we are now 60 pounds less, and down from a size 26 to a 16 in 3 months never thought it would be possible.
Life is very good at this point, just taking it day by day. And sometimes minute by minute. I am working out 3-5 times a week, and have incorporated weight training in with the cardio, trying to take care of the flab and hopefully be able to tone ait and eleviate some added surgery.
Hope this journey of mine continues to get better each day. I leave it in God hands. This journey is up to me I determine the outcome by what goes in.
Need to update my ticker now.......

WOOT HOO..... stepped on the scale today and I am down another 4.4 pounds. It has been so long since I have sen the teens on the scale OMG. I am so excited, most people would not understand this type of excitement. This really makes me feel as though I will one day be healthy and weigh less than muy husband which will be a first in all of the 24 years we have been together. I went through the closet got rid of everything that did not fit 6 bags in all. Now it looks a little bare but I have enough to get me through until the next cleaning spree in about 2 months. My husband has been so encouraging and caring through this since the surgery. He is very proud of me. And of course that makes me fel good.
Well will update again another day need to go shopping now.

Hey Dawnelle, just caught up and read your thread. Enjoyed your story.

I lost my step-Dad in January, so I definitely related to the struggles and your posts about your grams passing. Didn't you feel so fortunate to have your pouch at a time like that..? I know I did.

Well, congrats, and I look forward to watching your journey.

-Trish

Well, Thank you Trish for the kind words.

Doing very well at this point. Feel good with no real troubles, still get very constipated on a regular basis. But will address this with my surgeon next week. I can not wait until I am finally out of the 200 mark and in the ine hundreds, only 17 more pounds for that but can not wait. I am hoping to have lost at least another 25 pounds before my parents arrive on May 6. But that may be impossible, so if I can just be under 200 I will be happy.
Food wise not having any real issues, of course I still can not eat as much as they say I should but I am not hungry and I am not having any problems with fatigue or weakness so it is nto an issue at this point.
Am very excited and proud my daughter will be graduating from Hawaii Pacific University on May 13, did all the announcemnents today now just need to finish the pictures and get thm inside then off to the mail.
Hope everyone is a s lucky as I am with the fact that any newbies reading my post will have the same success that I have and no difficulty.
Will fill in mor elater.............

Default Regarding irregularity..

My surgeon OKed me to eat Metamucil wafers, with a small caveat. He doesnt want it to sit in my sleeve. So it is the only thing I can eat and follow with a bottle of water. For me, it works.

Getting all the water in helps too. I find that if I dont get the water in I have more problems.

You might ask him...
