Hi Aviator and Friends,
I have been lazy about replying lately PLUS my 17 yr old son has descovered that chatting on Facebook is a good way of avoiding studying for his Finals in 4 weeks. He has been hogging the computer that I usually use-comfy chair, big screen etc etc.
I have stopped losing which is no surprise!!!Amazing I haven't gained!!!
I am eating too much ice-cream and sweet biscuits (cookies to you).Plus not exercising.
All I can say is that is positive is that I am starting to crave the healthier options again so maybe I will get off this bad ride and do something positive about it.That is one thing we ALL have in common. We are able to make dramatic choices to make a difference to our standard of living. We certainly did didn't we?How brave we were.
Looking back I can't say it has been much of a chore.Obviously not if I can tuck into ice-cream and cookies like I have without gaining weight.
I am happy with my weight now so not losing anymore doesn't feel that bad BUT I seem to be forgetting that though I feel good I am still OVERWEIGHT and really do need to lose at least another 10 kilos to try and keep that diabetes 2 at bay plus all the other associated risks.
CLOTHES-we are just going into mid spring and I have tossed out all my winter clothes.Did it a bit too soon as we just had a cold snap.I had to spend 3 days of our long weekend indoors due to lack of warm clothes.Don't care-never want to see those clothes again.
Bye for a few secs. This reply is getting too long so will start another.

Hi again,
I have a friend travelling in Texas at the moment.I am so excited for her and hoping to see lots of pics.
I have asked my friend to bring back some junk mail.I love junk mail.
I looked up Walmart to see how prices compare with down here.Everything seems so much cheaper but maybe the quality is poor-eg clothes.I don't think they would be though.Tops for $5-wow.We couldn't get tops that cheap even in the second hand shops.I looked at the GPS navigation devices. They were about 50% cheaper-so in reality about 33% after currency exchange. No point in asking her to get one for me as by the time I buy Australian maps it would cost the same.
I looked up Bariatic Advantage to see if they post to Australia. They don't unfortunately.I will need my friend to get some and repost to me.
My friend will have the best time with her long lost family in Texas.Kathy loves to shop and it appears that is exactly what she started doing as soon as she arrived.First stop was Walmart.
Wish I was with her.
Vicki
PS: Good on ya Aviator

I did dump one night. Big meal at "The Bourbon House" a fantastic cajun seafood restaurant - Bourbon @ Iberville in the French Qtr. Ate too much, although I didnt think so at the time. Appetizer was raw oysters w/caviar tho. Came back to the bar at the W Hotel for a nightcap. Had two ladies take an interest in my "stand up routine". Ordered a cognac (small volume, remember) took one sip, and it was, "ugh!"

"Ladies, sorry I gotta go." Barely made it to the room. One way to get rid of a big meal, I guess. Lost a pound while there!

I will give no further detail in the interest of civility.

Will post some new photos soon. Promise!!

Default "Lose it!" app has really helped me

For you iPhone users out there, this is a really cool app that is free from iTunes that I have been using. It allows you to log your food from your phone and thereby regulate consumption. Especially helpful when traveling.

Now that Im done with the "magic period" where weight just falls off and im getting close to goal, using this to help with calorie consumption his been very helpful.

iPhone Apps - Lose It! | Apptism

If you dont have an iPhone, tough break! Love mine. And from a confirmed Blackberry addicted dude until just last July.

Sounds like a wild time down there, Aviator!

Glad to know what happens when you eat and drink too much.

Hi Aviator,
Can you let me know how much you can eat now.
In the mornings I have 2 toast with peanut butter. For lunch maybe a chicken sandwich-almost and in the night I just pick at my kid's food.BUT that is not all I eat.I pick at food all day because I get light-headed if I don't.I have crackers with peanut butter, slim cheeses, yoghurts BUT TOO MUCH ice-cream!!Spicy foods , pasta sauces and Asian food don't sit well!

My friend that is holidaying in Texas is making me drool.Kathy took a side trip to New York and loved Macy's.I went on the site and the clothes are so nice and reasonably priced. They don't post to Australia so I have to find someone who will accept the parcel and repost it to me.With all the new clothes I need I am acting a bit like a spoilt brat.I want clothes from Macy's and I want them immediately!!!!My friend said that she will return next year so I had better start saving so I can go too.
Talk to me soon
Vicki
