I'm in a bad place.... :(
Hello TT Family,
I know that I haven't checked in for a while, but I started a new job and school started back! Life is crazy. But I am in need of some support.
I am in a stall, and have actually stalled more than I have lost. I am 2 months out with only a 30lb weight loss. I am feeling very discouraged right now! Every day I get on the scale and nothing. I am taking in so much less than I used to! I don't get it! I feel like such a failure! I feel so hopeless!
I always drink a protein shake in the morning that has 35 grams of protein. I have lunch and dinner I don't really snack. I eat the protein first. I don't eat rice or pasta. If I have a subway sandwich, I only eat one side of bread and can't even finish it all. I do eat dreyers whole fruit popsicles which are only 80 cal. I eat those because they are the only popsicles that I can palate. Since the surgery I can't stand the taste of sugar free things. I don't get all my water in, I am not thirsty most of the time. I'm not sure if that could be a problem? I have sucked on like 1 starbusts occasionally if I wanted something sweet. I am just at a loss for words! I don't exercise, because I have a bad back injury and I hurt alot. This was my main reason for having the surgery, so that I could lose weight and get some pain relief. But these stalls are sucking the life out of me. I almost feel like giving up! Can someone pls help! I'm crying tears of dissappointment. I keep saying that I knew I would be the one to be the failure! It was to good to be true!
Another thing is that I have not had a period since the surgery, it's been two months. Is this normal?
PS: can anyone give me some quick and easy recipes. I am so tired of chicken and fish! I feel like I'm so limited in what I can eat and it is driving me crazy.

First of all, let me say your not a failure, you have lost 30 pounds! Now I know that is not your goal, got it, but even 30 pounds means that much less pounding on your back.
A couple suggestions; 1) See a nutritionist preferably someone your surgeon can refer you to. Learn how many calories exactly you need, and what exactly to eat. This nutritionist should have some other tips, like food journal etc.
2) Obtain a personal trainer, ideally you need to incorporate physical exercise to your weight loss plan. I understand you have a back injury, and a PROFESSIONAL trainer, not a workout warrior, can teach you exercises that can even benefit your back.
Remember again, you are already far better off than you were 30 pounds ago, don't give up! Use your tagline, Edit Your Future!

Thank you soooo much! You are right! It's just so easy to get off track mentally... This is a hard battle. I am just trying to stay in the game. I will take your advice.

Hang in there!!! I only had lost 24 pounds at 2 months - For the first 4 months I lost 12 pounds each. I'm now at 5.5 months and am "only" down 61 pounds - so in the last month and a half I've lost another 13 pounds. Do I get discouaged? Hell yes! But when was the last time I've lost 61 pounds in 5.5 months and kept it off? NEVER!!! This time is different - I will NOT gain it back.... I'm down a total of 77 pounds since March and although others lose faster, I cannot and will not compare myself to them - you can't either. Be thankful you have had the opportunity to have this tool and use it to the best of your ability - it WILL come off!

Slow is good
Discouraging when you see people dropping like magic but it's actually better for you!
Fast weight loss like I experienced is actually not good for you. When it's fast it's a lot of muscle not just fat, your hormones freak out, your blood sugar can be effected - hypoglycemia, it can be very difficult on your heart and ability to store iron...... there are just so many unpleasant side effects that go along with the super jiffy weight loss.
Take the suggestions above, see a physical therapist...if you haven't already... because there is excersize out there for you. it's not about how much you eat but what you eat. Look at the weight watchers plan and follow it! Use their recipes.
In fact this site has a recipe list.... look at it. Beth Rogers is awesome when t comes to eating well.
Take it one day at a time, top getting on the scale daily that discouraging! try to work your way to only stepping on once a week. if you can it should be in the morning butt naked after you use the potty... like Sunday morning 7am before your shower...every week same time.
it worth the weight to step on once a week and see 2 - 5 pounds loss
Good luck
