Good for you never give up the fight. I can't really tell you what to do next I have different insurance. But I did get the same response from my PCP when I first talked to him about WLS. He was resistant at first but I would not take no for an answer . I went around him right to the health administrator. She gave me a list of what I had to do, as well as the name of a surgeon and center of excellence in Portland. I then went to the orientation and everything just went pretty smooth from there. I am now 5 1/2 month post op and feel great and wonder why the heck I didn't do this sooner. Good luck and keep asking questions and don't take no for an answer.

I had a different response from my pcp!!! When I went in I was going in to get a prescription for diet pills!!! My co worker went to this doctor and they gave her a prescription in less than 5 minutes...so I was like yes he will give me one too!!! NOPE!!! As soon as I walked in he was like I know you came here for weight loss pills but I think you need Gastric Bypass!!! He said you have tried a lot of diets haven't you...I said yes pretty much all of them...he said I know and now your metabolism is shot!!! I told him about me going to the gym 3-5 times a week and I am lucky even at my size to take off a pound or two!!! Sooo we talked about the surgery and within a week I had a referral to my GB doctor!!!

My GB doctor just sent off my paperwork to Blue Cross/Blue Shield of CA so I am waiting (impatiently I might add) for my approval!!!

I am wishing and praying for your approval too!!!

That is up to you!!! I did only because I knew they were going to weigh us at the 1st meeting!!! That is the weight they initally go by, not any that you have from a doctor, unless you are on a doctor supervised diet already!!!
