Thank you all for your support. I sat down and wrote an email to all my co-workers. I had thought most of them all ready knew about my up coming surgery. I found that many of them were not aware and sent me words of encouragement as well. I am still a like stressed but more focused on what I need to do before June 20. You all are GREAT!

just had my surgery 2 weeks ago. i didn't tell my parents, i was going to have surgery until 2 months before it was scheduled. i needed my privacy and my mother tells everyone she knows about my medical issues and it really bugs me. my boyfriend is very supportive.
the month before surgery was kind of strange, lots to do at work to get ahead,so someone could fill in for me and i started clearing out some of the fat clothes.
just started soft foods, half a scrambled egg fills me up. i've lost 16 pounds so far and i'm not hungry.

OH boy! Just one more week. I am getting really excited and ready for this life changing event. Being a teacher, I am still very busy this week which I believe to be a good thing. We are going to the Fair tomorrow, Firestation Thursday, last day Friday. Have been packing my classroom as I am moving to Kindergarten. I have a great boss who will move all my stuff for me once Summer School is over. I am very calm about the upcoming surgery. I know it's the best thing I can ever do for myself. Just wanted to catch ya'll up on my progress. June 20 is my re-birthday!!!! Yippee!

Congrats to you Yvonne! I'm sure you will do great. Everything yo uare feeling is normal. If you weren't running through the emotions you are running through now you would be weird. This is a major life changing decision! This is not a diet it's a way of life. You can't just go off it on a whim or for a holiday etc. it is everyday all day. Good Luck!

I'm making lists on top of lists and probably will just walk out, lock the door and hope my stuff is still together when I come home.

Cindy, today may all your dreams come true. Hugs and Prayers for you.

For you Yvonne, it is completely normal, nothing is not normal before surgery, nor is it normal. Every one handles it there own way. I was edgy for a good two months, then I had a peace, I was ready, and wanted to be on the other side, whatever side that would be, I was ready. Love and hugs to you girlie.

You sound just like me! I am a teacher as well, and decided to have my surgery a month before school let out. I was out for 2 weeks and returned to school 20 lbs. lighter. It is difficult because you have to get used to eating differently from everyone else and it will take time. Chew, chew, chew and follow ALL the rules! My problem was that people talked about food constantly, not to mention all of the teacher socials we have where I now couldn't have ANYTHING! But, I have learned to cope, people began to notice my weight loss and offered many kind words of encouragement, I can keep up with the kids better and the strain of teaching is not as bad because I was so depressed and out of shape. You will be a BETTER teacher because you can do MORE with the kids! (I teach middle school 6th, 7th and 8th graders-ART teacher, that's why I get them all!) I feel SO MUCH BETTER and WAS a crabby, irritated person before surgery, but it was because I was SO READY to do this!! I am now 8 weeks post-op and feel TERRIFIC! I have lost 40 lbs. and have so much more energy! Thank goodness for WLS; I almost "lost" myself! Good luck and keep us posted! This is the BEST forum I have found and it has helped me SO MUCH!

Hey Hun and welcome!
Theyre all normal feelings so dont worry about them. I remember I kept getting more nervous everyday but wasnt really too nervous. but when the nurses came in to roll me into OR my nerves jumped!!!
These are all normal feelings. I worried about my house being messy and whod cook for hubby and how long id heal and catheters and enemas. in the end it was no where near as bad as I thought and would do it over.
