Trish,

You look so awesome! You are my inspiration. I started at about the same weight so maybe someday I can look like you. I will never be able to wear a two piece because I have had way too many surgeries and I am lot older so my skin will probably not be as elastic as your was, but I would be very happy to wear a nice one piece.

Congratulation!!!! You should be so proud!

I know you're having fun, so I understand if you don't wanna give up your couple cocktails but I think if you switch to water for a couple weeks, you'll see that the calories from the alcohol is what's holding you back. Drink more water and you won't wanna snack as much and you can get rid of some of those carbs.

I am here. I am stuck. I am almost 10 months out. I need to regroup and refocus.
Yes, alcohol and carbs could be the sole issue. They were for me at one time, and I was out far enough to see a DIRECT correlation when I put on weight. Beer and wine were the only new things, so I knew it was the cause.

There are a couple others here who are in your shoes and have either regained or stalled out due to adding alcohol to their diet. One found the weight loss kick-started by taking a break from the alcohol. Based on the experiences of others, yes those two COULD be the sole issue for your struggle to keep losing.

I REALLY believe that if you do just TWO things then you'll start losing again. The first would be to just cut out the drinks, cuz you can live without them, unlike food. If you don't want to be completely sober that's your choice. But if you try it for 6 weeks and you see a change in your body (you will, trust me) then you've identified one of your culprits. Maybe the ONLY one, and it's not so much the carbs at all. But you'll find out.

The second thing would be to GRADUALLY cut down the amount of unnecessary carbs you're eating. Eat less every day, and if need be cut the bad ones out. You know what the good/bad carbs are, and you know inside your own head which ones (if any) you're eating that are unwise choices.

My suggestion is don't do the whole hog approach of "I'm quitting it ALL!" when it comes to carbs (alcohol yes, carbs no). Because that would likely lead to self-defeatist beating about the head when you slip (we ALL slip sometimes in our lives, in one way or another). Of course if you want to do a complete stop and turn, then the 5 day pouch test is an option.

I think that my suggested course is a valid option too. AND it's practice for what you're more likely to do when you're further out and maintaining.

(Damn that turned into one longass answer! So I hope it helps...)

Girl you don't know how to type a few sentences. You only type a paragraph or you don't post. LOL and I love you for it! You want to make sure you're clear.

Default Thank you

Thanks all of you and Phoenix - I know you are RIGHT.

I'm feeling more motivated tonight. Gonna basically do what phoenix suggested, because I know deep down she is on the money.

Wanted to find some more motivation, so I finally found that pic from last summer at the lake. BLAH. That was last August I believe, near my highest weight. It was scorching and I don't think I even got in the water because I was so depressed. My last trip I spent the ENTIRE time in the water loving life. We are going again for Labor Day and I'm going to try to refocus, lose a little, exercise, and be proud of my efforts.

Thanks again you guys, can't tell you how much this site means to me.

PS> This might be my least picture EVER ON THE PLANET EVER. So, here I am, coming to terms with my old fat self, puttin her out there, its all part of the process. Maybe I'm struggling right now because I haven't really let go of all the hurt I was feelin back then...????

PPS> I just made a comparison shot with a similar-ish shot from my July houseboat trip. Yes I'm covering my lap with a towel, but trust me, I was FREE :-)

Default free!

Trish- you look great. I just wanted to wish you good luck on refocusing, and to tell you that I LOVE that you said you were "free". I just love that sentiment regarding losing all this weight, and I can't wait until I am there too! Please keep us updated on your progress!

That side by side pic is DAMN GOOD motivation girl! Your hard work is totally obvious, and the genetic fairy dusted your skin with a huge dose of bounce-back. I think I hate you...

I'm glad to have given you some advice that feels right to you. I think you're going to be able to do it, that is work out what you need to do in order to balance health AND pleasure in life. It's basically just DIFFERENT work you'll be doing now that you're close to the weight you'll be maintaining at. I'm gonna be keeping my eye on you...

I had to highlight your post just to make sure you didn't trick me and type in white to hide a couple paragraphs. *giggles and runs*
