Smile Vim's Umbrella

Vim’s Umbrella
Here is Vim's story!

My weight loss journey has liberated and empowered me, freed me from so much emotional burden. I should have set up my own thread ages ago, but “in those days” I was more scattered. So here I have now gathered all my threads and loose ends, under one umbrella...! Vim's Umbrella!

Hereby I wish to share my living in joy and harmony… We know that through weight loss surgery we remove the “fat suit” and reveal the “Me, Me, Me”!

Streamlining! Regrouping, restructuring, strengthening and consolidating, yet without putting all my eggs in one basket… Big time in all areas of my life!

So, welcome to my new diary!

Default Whatever happened to Summer?

Next week we are changing months... September! So, where did Summer go? Did it ever even turn up?

The grey skies, rain every few days, few suntans around, litter on the sidewalks. Disillusioned people who did not go away for holidays, who could not afford to go... Despondency...
We are all in the same boat in London.

And yet, my glass is half full. I have been on lovely walks with my dogs, seen the luscious greenery that is rare for our summers here... We are recovering from our loss of our beloved puppy Pugsy and are grateful to still have Lulah and Billy. And we have each other AND our health. My life is so much brighter than this time last year when I lost my 89 year old mother AND was struggling due to my weight... I have good Forum Friends to turn to, at any time of day or night, whether in need or not.

My 25 year old jet-setting niece chose to spend her Friday evening with my husband and myself - we enjoyed being family over a nice meal. Our son, who lives with his girlfriend in our village, spotted us during his cycle ride home after work and called out a hello - felt good to have been spotted on the high street!

I'm increasing my protein and nutrition awareness by reading, curled up in my sofa - Autumn is on her way! Time to get my knitting out and plan home made Christmas cards...

Life feels good enough. Last weekend I rescued a cat which I kept for 4 days before finally tracking down its rightful owner. Nice cat. This weekend? Weeding the cottage garden, trimming shrubs, sanding down and oiling garden furniture. Pottering and being thankful that I'm well and happy...

Deborah!
It may be Summer pretty much of the time, but don't you have considerable heat, all the time? I can't cope with heat, I thrive in the cold, but I do miss sunSHINE! Sadly, we have only been able to eat THREE meals outdoors this Summer. Let's hope for an Indian Summer!
Thank you for your encouragement! It feels rather "selfish" to start yet another thread, all Vimified, but at least all is under one safe "umbrella" now!
Happy weekend Deborah!
Cheers!

Smile Vanilla Milkshake Paint, Protein Bars and Sunshine!!!

Thank you for dropping in P! Always good to see you around!

PAINT

How can it be so incredibly difficult to find "vanilla milkshake white" paint?! The samples I have come back with, at least 40 variants on the theme of White, just don't have Vanilla among them! I'll just have to mix Butterscotch White with Chalk White to get my nearest shade!

PROTEIN BARS

I have just taken delivery of 24 "dark chocolate' protein bars, 21.6 gr protein per 60gr bar. They even taste fabulous too - like Milky Bar! Meal in a bar! Yum and perfect for eating when on my drives to the cottage! Nibble it to make it last! No hamster sawdust variant that one!

SUNSHINE!

At last the sight of SUN! I haven't seen it for over 10 days! I'm so perked up! The world is a better place!

Cheers for now!

Thumbs up 9 months - duration of a pregnancy...

I have delivered! I am losing my tummy but, no, it was not a baby!
I have lived 9 months witnessing changes within my body, as with a pregnancy, but in this case the transformation is through my wls. Watching my body cope with the pouch, adjusting to quantities and textures, learning to avoid foods, paying the price for some, getting an appropriate intake of protein, vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Watching myself "mature" in the process, "grow" into a more confident, empowered individual. It has taken me 7 1/2 months to get the hang of it and now I'm fine-tuning my daily living. All I need to really do is increase my exercising.
My skin is good, coping well, my clothes hang perfectly and the vacated hangers are being readorned with more modern, more funky classic clothing, brighter colours, more flattering cuts.
I am very happy and whilst I know I have another 40 pounds to lose to my own goal, I feel slimmer, fitter and look forward to continuing to lose slowly.
I am most grateful to the friendships I have forged on Thinner Times and turn to this site every single day, like to a true friend!
So, keep well my Friends!
With love to all!
Cheers,
Vim

Well, lucky me, as ever!
You remember "EBL" - the "eye ball licker"!?
Well, I have another, pretty similar setup, JUST ROUND THE CORNER from where EBL lives!
Another Professor, another famous US university - the guys do not appear to know of each other and this new setup is even better than the original contract!
Amazing home, really nice wife, handsome kids, discreet staff, brilliant perks and above all, really interesting job and free rein! I feel quite comfortable here and hope this will last for a year or so.
My agent is really brilliant - I just don't know how she finds me these really interesting people - some know each other and many don't, especially important at times! Luckily, I can walk a different route and need never bump into the EBL!
September is usually a good month for me...
Cheers,
Vim

Had my hair done today, found a new texture and shade of lipstick, am wearing a "new" style, a much younger self. Feeling great and empowered!
Have received a few PMs on various topics. My life is moving in the right places, my energy is increasing, I'm working harder and faster, achieving more, on a sort of "winning" streak.
I am keen to spend more time with my 3 grown children who still need nurturing and parenting. I am grateful for small treasures and appreciate the details of Life...
Cheers,
Vim
