My typical thoughts for the day are "food, food, food, food" ..... I can't stop thinking of it ... why??? I was never ever this bad! When I start a diet I do wonderfully for the first 3-6 months (then I gain it all back +10 lbs). So, I am going on my 3rd visit on Tuesday to see my PCP for my "weigh-in" for surgery. The last time I was up 2 lbs and I am sure I will be up another 2 lbs. Yeah, 4 lbs is not that much .... BUT my insurance will DENY me if I keep gaining weight. I just want to cry when I think of food .... I am thinking "oh no, not again!" I just have ZERO willpower since I have started my journey for WLS when it comes to food. I have never lost all control with food ... UNTIL now I need to regroup my goals I think .... I can't do this, I get up mad every day at myself cuz I think of all the yucky food I have eaten the day before I hope I can pull it together before its too late!

I had my 3rd visit with my PCP on Thrusday. I gained 1 lb I just can't seem to stop eating. It's like it's a loooong good-bye to my best friend *food*. I know come January I won't be able to turn to food for comfort, out of bordem or just because everyone else is eating, I should be too!

I actually gained 7 lbs from being on vacation 2 weeks before my doctors visit. So, in 1.5 weeks I lost 6 lbs! So, I can do it, I really can! But with my insurance not having me lose my 10% of my weight to get the surgery, I find it really hard to be encouraged to lose any weight before my date for WLS comes rolling around.

I hope I come to terms with my eating issues soon, I really wanted to lose at least 15 lbs before my 2 week pre-op diet. I know I can do it, but how do you part with such a good "friend" when you know for sure you are going to have to permenantly give it up in a few months and you really don't have to do it right now? I feel so gross and I can feel myself gaining the weight, and I hate it!

On the bright side ... 3 more visits until I get to get my date!!! YAY!

Girl, I hear ya!!! I am in the very same boat with wanting to eat, eat, eat. When I went for my initial seminar with the surgeon, he said that he wanted me to loose as much as I could before surgery and I have done it gained. It's only a few lbs, but I have still gained and NOT lost. I go 10-1 for my 6th dr visit for the insurance and I am so afraid that the insurance will say well she is doing nothing but gaining, she is not committed. But I am like you, I can do excellent until night fall and then all the food demons come out of the woods, tempting me to eat because I am bored, stressed, lonely or whatever. I went through WW too and had a loss of 41.8lbs and gained about 20 of it back through a series of life changes. SO needless to say I am right there with you. Feel free to talk to me anytime about it and maybe we can go through this together. This site is GREAT and very informative. WE CAN DO IT!!!

I am so excited ... I go for my last weigh in tomorrow morning! I have gained 2 lbs since the start of my 6 months ... BUT, I am down to my 284 I weighed in at the begining I am hoping everything goes good and my insurance gives me an answer in a timely fashion

I can't believe it has been 6 months already .... I am so ready and prepared for this ... wish me luck with my insurance!

Grrr, I just called my insurance coordinator for my surgeons office .... I told her I had called my insurance company to see where they were in the determination process. The coordinator told me that she hasn't even submitted my paperwork yet because the nurse hasn't even looked at my chart yet ... Well, my chart has been sitting on her desk for 1.5 weeks doing nothing because she hasn't even given it to the nurse yet I was so hoping for a determination before the New Year so I can get all my ducks in a row. So I am still waiting for her to send to insurance company ... hopefully it gets done by the end of the week.

Default You'll be fine Karen

And yes you will be nervous. Good luck to you. BTW, you can go into the calendar and add your surgery date so everyone on the forum is notified when your big day arrives. I know we will all be thinking about you.
