Me......two years out!
Can you guys believe this?!?!?! WOW! This has went so fast. It crept up on me and I am late writing this post, but time has flown by and I didn't even realize it had happened. I just had my 2-year surgiversary and my life is SO different now from when I was 357 pounds and dying. I thank God every day for the 2nd chance I have been given and am so happy I am able to live again and share good quality time with my kids and family. I have officially lost 160# now! Yes Beth, I dropped ANOTHER pound. hehehe Over the last two years, you guys have meant so much to me and I have developed some really close friendships from this board and I am almost thankful y'all were here when I needed you. I was in a world of trouble when I found you because of all the emotional obstacles that come with this surgery and being able to share those with others that have gone through the same things has been a tremendous help to me. You still are even after two years!
So much about me has changed since I was that huge person, my body, my mind, my heart, my communication skills, and my confidence and self-esteem. I now make choices based on what makes me happy and not just because it's the only option I have due to morbid obesity, right down to what type of panties I wear, the places I go, and things I do. The world seems to have opened up again for me and I am so ready to go exploring again! Some relationships have changed, and the biggest one being my b'friend that I have lived with for 8 years now. He has never been good for me and it's time now to make that change. It is already in the process of happening and he knows it's a matter of time. I cannot be the barbaric person and just kick him out. I do still care what happens to him, so I give him time to get himself set up with a place to go, which is happening very soon. I think I will be able to close the door on this part of my life after it's all done if I go about it this way and what feels right in my heart. He is not a bad person, just not good for me in any way whatsoever and never has been. Again, I just settled then because of my MO and it's time to move on for what is GOOD for me now. I want to be healthy physically AND mentally. My relationship with my kids has blossomed again. I have always been close to them, but it just gets better and better and they are growing up into young adults and it's nice to be able to share in their lives because they allow me to and include me. I love knowing they will always be with me, even if not in the same house. You parents that have older children know what I mean. My relationship with my mom is the best it has ever been in my life. She is my rock! Never thought that could be possible, but she is awesome in most ways. She still has her quirks, but they are tiny compared to the good she is in my life and I owe her big time for saving me from the disease I had called morbid obesity because without her paying cash for my surgery, I would not be here today to talk to you guys. I really believe I would have died not too long after my surgery date if I had not had this done.
I can't explain or write all that I feel inside thinking about what all has happened for me due to this surgery because it's so overwhelming that it would be a book, but I just had to include you guys in my celebration since you have been here with me every step of the way and held me up when I needed strong arms. Thank you my special friends, you have really done a fantastic job of supporting me with whatever I have needed you for. I love you guys! And..............
(dances 'round) HAPPY SURGIVERSARY TO ME! HAPPY SURGIVERSARY TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Happy surgiver-s-a-r-y........well you get what I'm singing. LOL
MUAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Trina
WOW two years already. Congrats on the wieght loss, and for seeing what you need to see and going for what is best for you. I wish you nothing but the best. You are a hell of a woman and a great person.
Happy re-birthday, because that's really what it was for you, and some many others of us here.

Trina, I have watched and learned from you these last 2 years, your struggles with eating and the emotional roller coster that comes with this change. Your insite is spot on and your care and concern for those on this forum has been inspirational to say the least.
God bless you and your family. You deserve the very best for the rest of your Long and healthy life.
Congrats and Congrats
Best
Lori
