Question Need answers, researching to get GB

I got lapband on Jan 30, 2007. Only lost 25lbs and these last 2 months due to servere arthritis pain and limited movement I gained almost all my weight back. I am researching if I want to do a revision to GB. Can you who have had the GB tell me your experience and what you went through, especially the first year.

1. Did you lose what you wanted or at least a big portion of the weight you wanted to lose?

2. Were you in pain in anyway? Not just recooperating from the surgery?

3. Did you have a lot of problems dumping?

4. What foods are popular that don't agree with GB people?

5. Did you have a lot of loose skin and if so did you have problems getting plastics done or are you having problems getting plasctics done?

6. What is your typical eating plan...what are the foods you eat the most.

7. How many vitamins do you need to take daily?

8. Anything else you want to add to your experience that you think I should be aware of.

Thank you so much

I have been reading a lot and I can see how different it has been for everyone. Everyone on here has been so brave through their journey. I have received a lot of information just reading.

Thank you

Hope this helps

I have had a band fitted August 2007 in Manchester UK.

I have now lost over 6 stone. Would have liked to have lost more though

My weight loss has slowed down despite extra walking abd the sickness only happens if I eat to fast or to much.

My blood tests show all my levels are normal so for me no problems with vits etc. I have never taken anything to boost my imune system.

My daily eating is 2 tablespoons of fruit and fibre in the morning.

Jacket potato with butter for lunch (small) ( inside only not skin) Or soup and low fat crackers.

Evening meal..... sometimes a tin of rice pudding, ot steamed fish mash pots and mushy peas. Yogurt.

The loose skin is a real problem, my thighs are the worst and my bust is now nothing but loose skin and sagging

I think the hardest part for me is the stinging I suffer from the port area all the time, and the fact that it is now sticking out and I often find it uncomfortable during the day.

I do not know if this will help you in anyway but for me on the whole I am happy with the band just didnt think it would be so diffcult to live with .

I hpe you soon start loosing the weight again that must make you feel so defeated. I find the adjustments do make a difference maybe you need another one doing?

take care Dianne
