Like everybody has said, you are not alone. I also love salt, and used to literally exfoliate my mouth with those chips every other day. Love them!! Do you like collards? I make collards (without the stems) and eat them with salt and vinegar. I have seen on here that docs have said no nuts. I eat sunflower seeds all the time. I quit smoking on my surgery day (Frickin miss it) so I have used seeds to help with that, but also help with my salt cravings.

Hang in there!!

Sweet lady, I think you have some idea what void that food is filling for you. You already have a good idea which is the first step towards taking control. The book by Geneen Roth is an excellent one. I've read several articles written by her. She suggests that you look how that food you are craving makes you feel. Does it make you feel warm? Does it make you feel loved? Often those are the feelings you are trying to find when you eat. Here is a link to some articles that she wrote that I posted awhile back. I think they may help you come to some understanding.

You know you can handle that situation if you disciplince yourself too. Yes, sometimes we can't control the desire to eat what we want but we should always bare in mind that not all foods we intake are good for our body. Another thing is that you can pay your attention to other things such as doing some online workouts with your friends or family members. In that case, your attention will be diverted to other stuff...

Thank you all so much for your advice and support. One of my friends is going to try and hook me up with a therapist who specializes in food addiction. Also, I threw away the bag of salt & vinegar chips myself. It was hard as HELL but I felt like I needed to do it. Anyway, thanks again.

Mahealani

P.S. - I've hit a stall and I've been hovering around 273-270 for WEEKS. It's driving me NUTS!!!! Only 30 lbs in 9 weeks! WTF?
