Default Possibly OT- My how I miss . . .

No, no, not about food. Haha, I miss having regular bowel habits. I know, I know gross, but does anyone else have trouble with regularity? I'm 23 and 6-7 months out. I load up on protein, get in all my fluids, use benefiber supplements and exercise daily (or there abouts), but I can't have a "regular" bowel experience to save my life. I often go 5-8 days between "movements". I've even resorted to taking laxatives 2-3 times last month due to constipation/bloating icky feelings. I talked to my PCP and she tested me for thyroid and I was negative. Sorry to spend so much time talking about poop. I'm gonna go be an adult and pay bills or something. . .

Thanks for listening. =0)

Sorry, can't really help other than to offer support.
I used to be clockwork, punctual and reliable. Now I have lost my synchronicity - irritating!
Drinking more water at first waterlogs me but after 2 days the drains and pipeline start working...
Try going shortly after a meal and "push" like your mama told you as a toddler...
Best of luck!
Vim

go buy Miralax, you can get it at Wal*Mart I know for sure. It will work within just a few hours, my daughter takes it nearly for the problems she has with constipation. It is completely tasteless, you can mix it with anything. If that does not work, I have no idea what will.

Wish I could be of more help!

I am almost 4 weeks post-op. I saw my GP Thursday. His wife is a WLS "survivor".

He went, "How are your bowels moving?"

I said, "I am passing concrete every 3 days or so. I take benefiber."

"How is that working for you?"

"It isn't"

"Take some DSS (stool softener) twice/day."

"It is OK for direct entry to the jejunum?"

"Yep."

blessed relief!

My two cents...your mileage may vary.
