Default Deborah's so called life....

Ok i'm going to see if i can keep up with this "blog"

I'm so tired of hitting the darn stalls. Not sure why and i keep "changing things up" ie eating more calories and more excersize and its NOT working. I read an article that Toony posted a while back from a Terry Simpson,MD on plateaus and stalls and the only thing i can think of is maybe i'm eating too many carbs in a day. I do love to nibble on cheese its or goldfish. I love string cheese too but sometimes lately i really need that salty cracker. So i'm wondering / pondering doing the 5DPT even though i'm 4 1/2 months out i find myself meandering towards those good ol' crackers and thinking thats got to be why i'm stalling so frequently. I think i'll just do soups and liquids for a day or 2 maybe not the entire 5dpt but gotta get my head away from crackers. hmmmmm i wont know the results because i'm still in scale withdrawls!

And like an idiot at the PCP office the scale was a manual one and it was NOT the number i had on my scale so thats got me thinking i gained 4 pounds. And my husbands daughter in law sticks in my mind she only lost 60 pounds with her GBS so thats got me wondering if i'm thru. But in the good part i'm up to 2.9 mph on the treadmill for 26 minutes yippeeee

move scale move.....

Oh Deborah... Don't give up so soon. You will lose weight for a good 10 to 18 months. Keep your chin up sweetie! Talk to your nutritionalist and see what they suggest your proper caloric intake and diet should be right now. Getting back to basics is always good, but I still agree with everyone 5 months out is too soon to do teh 5DPT, although like you said maybe the 2 days of liquids might break that cracker snacker thing you've got going on. Wishing you the best of luck. Remember we're here.

Deborah
Don't let these things get to you. My scale at home is 3lbs less then the my work scale (I work in a nursing dept. at a college) & my doctors office. I also know that my body will bounce up & down as I go thru changes.

Secondly I wouldn't judge someone else's weight success against what might happen to you. Every body is different & everyone loses weight differently. Weight loss will depend on you (diet, exercise, mentally).

You need to keep a positive spirit & mind. I know you will be successful with your wls you just need to believe in yourself.

thanks Sharon and Heidi. I know you guys are here and i'm SOOOOO thankful for you guys.

Well my other "issue" was doing so well that i didnt take the bulking fiber for about 5 days to see if it may have been resoved sorta. OMG i was up almost all night and this morning in the restroom so i'm going to make me a nice protein and fiber shake. I was planning on taking a June trip with my church every year to Oklahoma and last year I drove all the way and thought "oh i'll rent a car this year and drive again" Then i remembered about my bathroom issues so i may not be able to go this year. I'm bummed. I just dont know if i could really make the 14 hour drive to Okmulgee, OK without stopping a trillion times to use the bathroom. And there are some real long stretches of nothing between Flagstaff and Albequerqee I think my stomach would be jumping around not seeing a restroom for miles hahaa. Oh well we'll see how the Lord leads me on that one.

I think i did better with the cracker snacking yesterday and WOW i drank 80 oz of fluid yesterday geesh that was great.

Good job with the fluid and the not snacking Deborah..

As for the trip to OK.. it does sound like it's a good idea that you stay home this time around.. hopefully, you'll have that resolved this time next year!

Hey Debs,

Remember when you posted this message to me?

"girl now you know! there is a nice awful stalling period for us ALL keep on hitting that gym your doing so good"

Right back at ya babe

It's hard when your weight is steadily dropping and then the scale doesnt move. 4 1/2 months out is about the same time it hit me and it seemed like FO'EVER. It will start happening for you again.

Hang in there darlin'

My surgery was 12-14-07

I know how you feel. This was a last option for me because even strictly following weight watchers for 2 months I only lost 2.5 pounds.

My body just does not lose weight easily at all. So even those months when I did only drop single digits I consoled myself because without the surgery it would have been a much lower number.

Some days I wanted to obliterate my scale with a hammer because it would vary by 7 lbs in the same day....sometimes even the same hour. I was becoming obsessive with it and so D hid it from me for my mental well being.

so you can see why I don't weigh in and update that often anymore. I was so encouraged when I got my report from Curves today because even if your not dropping pounds, you know for SURE that you are losing inches.

You WILL get there hon.

**edit**

I just noticed that we are practically pod mates and that we have almost lost the same amount of weight. We sure have alot in common. If WLS is a journey we are on the same road together. Life is better with a travelling buddy

honest to God why do i bother my mom gave me the scale back today and like a true junkie couldnt wait to get home at 6PM and weigh myself in the nude well it STILL SAYS 214 WTH! Ok so i know i may have some food in my guts and other stuff there so tomorrow morning after "business" i will get on again in the nude. I just thought by now (after 2 weeks ) i'd be down at least to 210 This scale has NOT moved in i dont know a month almost! God i just have no clue whats up i'm sick of this crap.

Well my 5 year old made me a beautiful "sun catcher" at school and i loved it and he made a card and my 15 year old made me a card in FRENCH! i was impressed Thank God for my little trials I call my children, they're blessing me
