thanks you guys!

um i kinda see why i'm loosing weight again (other than working out) i'm not eating hardly enough of real nutrients. its like my GBS has retightened all over again or something i eat like 2 bites of meat and i'm full and alittle in pain so i stop eating. the only problem with this is that my trainer is saying that i'm beginning to loose muscle mass he's happy i'm loosing weight but every 2 weeks we check my body fat and it really doesnt go down, which in essense lets us know that i'm really loosing some muscle instead of the fat. He has told me a couple weeks ago to eat/drink at LEAST the amount of protein as i weigh (so now i need 175g of protein) and really in all honesty i'm only getting in like um........60g So he said thats also why i'm loosing muscle and not the fat. He also notices that my face is becoming um, well alittle too bony and sunken in because of this (i agree sorta) so i need to add in like 2-3 more protein shakes a day to get this protein / muscle /fat thing under control. Its so weird, here i am almost 2 years out HAPPY as a clam that i'm loosing weight again, but its really loosing muscle. And yes i am doing resistance training with him twice a week so i'm building muscle only to loose it so i really want to stop loosing muscle (i like my beyonce booty) and my sexy Michelle Obama arms but hate my jiggly belly and thighs YUCK!

wow ok i just joined the Biggest Looser Challenge at my gym 1st prize is a 42" Plasma (which honestly doesnt "move" me) but the contest goes from Nov 7-jan 7th and my trainer is all excited to push me even harder because even though i've been loosing weight, i'm not moving in body fat % too much which means i'm actually believe it or not, loosing muscle mass but i will be working harder now so hopefully that will go down! Every Sat morning they do a "last chance" work out for the participants this will be fun. Theres only 18 of us doing it but i'm up for a challenge

Hi Deb. Just wanted to stick my two cents in here. If you're training as hard as you are and losing muscle mass...are you getting in enough protein? I'm sure your trainer has pounded the idea that you need protein to build muscle. Keep up the good work.

Goal! I did it!
111 pounds gone since my RNY
125 total pounds gone forever!
Maintaining within a few pounds up and down. 130 is my goal and I've been hovering a pound or two over it for months now.
BMI 22.3

I am not a tame lion......

Your good Deb! My trainer is telling me i need to get in at least 175g protein a day, i'm so sorry to report that i barely get in 70g a day. I try but darn it i'm sick of the protein drinks and the solids really dont stay down i am going to work hard at it one day at a time trying to get in at least 2 hopefully 3 shakes a day because your 100% right i need to intake way more protein

Just stopping in to say hello! Good job with the exercising, but get that protein up girl! You know, it doesn't have to be protein shakes...eat some fat free cottage cheese, Fage yogurt, Trader Joe's buffalo burgers, etc. I still do an occasional protein shake, but I'm a bigger fan of actually eating, lol.

I'm trying Sherry but wow getting the protein in is harder NOW then it was back in the day. i have increased it with some cottage cheese and more protein shakes (fage often for some weird reason makes me dump some times. and yea i get the lowest fat fage)

i've been going back to my chicken salad, spinich salads and yeah new problem.....more loose bowels and wicked gas when i eat "roughage" lol

Default Wow look at you girl

Hi Deb,

Just stopping in to say "Hello". I think you are doing so well you look fantastic. On the other hand watch out you need to keep up your protein intake. I on the other hand am stuck at the same weight for over 5 months now. I have been busy working two jobs right now being the real estate market is still in the dumps. I have only sold one home this year so far. Other than that hope to be able to get back to the gym soon. No option to have a personal trainer in my town lucky we even have a gym.>LOL So keep up the good work you inspire me to never give up and get my but moving.

so let me just say briefly that when you dont or you forget to order SKINNY latte there is a wicked difference in the 2%milk and the non fat milk calorie wise! OMG for one week i decided that i just wanted the pepermint latte with the 2%milk cause it tasted better, so guess what i saw on the scale this Monday weigh in...... A 2 1/2 POUND WEIGHT GAIN! Holy smokes, then i looked at the difference my normal is 110 cals but when i dont do "skinny" its 320! Needless to say i'm so glad that i found the cause of that gain and am back on my normal routine, actually i'm doing my own coffee with steamed milk at home this week because i really am pissed that i gained weight like that. Its funny how when you stray a bit off the "lifestyle" change you really will gain weight period! I've even had to completely step it up in the gym too
