Hair
Hi, Sonya,
I'm just 4 weeks out but I was told the dumping could go on forever, that you have to avoid those things that make you dump. Are you already losing hair? I think I saw something on another thread here, said about to 6 months or so, but it would stop. I have seen them post about clothes exchanges but I haven't seen anything lately.
I guess I'm not much help. How are you feelin otherwise? Good luck!
By the way, love your avatar!

thanks for sharing, Anne & Sonja. I just went to dictation today so am getting closer to having this reality myself. I appreciate your candidness and find it so amazing at the amount of weight each of you has dropped since your surgeries last month. Hope to meet more people soon. I have been hanging back a little with getting all the tests and info to Dr P. Please recommend best time/place to meet people from this forum...

Sonja,
Another Esondido-ite!!! Too cool! Okay, you will lose hair till you hit about 6 months but by a year it should be growing back in real well or so I have been told. I have quit losing finally and mine is really thin now, but with hair pieces I don't look like a freak at least! Haven't heard about the next clothing exchange yet, I am ready for one though!

On the subject on clothing exchanges...
Hoo Boy, I am ready for one too!! I have a huge pile ready to go and I ned to go through my closet again. Mostly 22 and 20 I have to pass on down the line, maybe a couple 24s and 3x. My 18s are getting way to big but I can't afford to buy any clothes right now. It's a good thing I wear scrubs to school Bring on the exchange
Oh, about the hair, mines still shedding alot. I'm a little over 5 months out and it started at between 3 and 4 months for me. I'm not going bald yet. But I definately can see the difference, my ponytail is getting thinner, along with the rest of me Hopefully it will slow down and stop over the next couple of months.
Best Wishes to you all.

I'm 9 months out and my hair stopped falling out about 7-8 months out. My hair now is very thin but that's ok I've lost 130lbs and I feel great. I just dumped last week. The dumping gets few and far in between but it still can happen. You just have to remember the rules and don't try to over do it. I hope this helps and if there is anything else let me know.

Sonja,
It's been pretty good. The last couple of weeks were a little harder, not feeling quite right. So I took advice from the oldsters on here and slowed down on the food bit. Went back to like cream of broc soup, cottage cheese and just eating a couple of bites at a time. I think I was trying to eat too much (like 4-5 bites, OMG ) Also been taking the Gas-X a little more. But everything seems to be helping. Haven't noticed the hair loss really. Hopefully I won't lose it all!
I'm hoping to go thru my clothes this week, we really need to push for an exchange somewhere. If anyone hears anything, let us know.
Keep in touch,

hairloss
My hair started falling out about 2 months after surgery and kept coming out for a year... its funny to see ALL these baby hairs poking out!
Dumping; if you are going to have a sugar, fat, carb intolerance and can last forever. Everyone is different. For some folks as time goes on, the get more tolerable. Im a dumper and glad I am.

Hair Loss
Our clinic here in Tulsa said, the more protein you take in, the less hair will fall out. Do you do any of the protein shakes? You can buy the really potent stuff at GNC, health store places... just a thought!
