M, I totally feel what you are saying about your old eating habits being comfy, but girl that is what got us to 250 and 300 lbs to begin with. Of course they are not normal. Preop my doc, nut, psych drilled into my head this whole new way of life I would have to follow for the rest of my life. I am a little concerned if maybe your medical staff lacked in this field or what. If have questions or need guidance make them be there for you to get answers. They are the trained professionals. On my last docs visit (9 months post op) my doc told me something that I think about everyday. He told me " The tool I have given you has been successful for you, now what you continue to do with that tool is up to you. You WILL be on a diet for the rest of your life. Your continued success will be determined by what you do with that diet". I go by this everyday. I WILL NOT go back to that fat girl weighing 252 pounds from a year ago. M, I hope you are able to get your head in the right place and make this tool work for you. There are many days I don't want to eat, there are some when I want to eat everything in sight, but now I don't. And I won't. Start off tomorrow with a positive attitude. Set a goal each day and reach it. Don't feel sorry for yourself about what you can't eat etc... Your mindset plays alot in the outcome you will achieve.
