I'm already at 980 calories for
|
i've heard that to get out of a stall, you need to eat 1500 for a few days. I personally eat about 900-1000 a day now as well. that 1500 thing didnt work for me. I still would back away from the crackers sweetie pie, i've heard we shouldnt be eating more than 60g carbs a day. Thats probably why our weight loss is slow
Marie, very good response. I've just been waiting over 5 months for my " to come" day and its still not here guess i'll keep waiting. but your right about the SA's we Americans are really overfed, over blessed and probably the MOST complainingest people in the world.

I do have some input on this .... I am not allowed 60 carbs day .. in fact I am suppose to limit my carbs to 5 per meal...... I am just putting this out there ... since its such a big difference.... and my calorie intake is 400-600.... I do watch very closley and try to never go over 20 carbs a day .... I guess thats why I drink alot of protien shakes.....

Well said Amanda!!!! We had our surgery at the same place but with different surgeons. I too am like you carbs are non-existent in my diet now. And honestly with getting in my protein and fluids, I dont miss them one damn bit!!! My doctor's head would explode and he would excommunicate me from the island if he knew I was eating cheese its everyday. Honestly if you will be vigilant about not eating them you will eventually get past them and not crave them. But ALSO don't have them sitting in your house calling out to you. YOU WILL EAT THEM!!! There are foods now I don't buy, peanut butter for one, because I still can't control myself with just a bite. That whole damn jar would be gone in a couple of days. Ladies this is where the working of the tool comes into play, get past that head hunger, cut way back on the carbs, up that protein, and it will make a world of difference if how you feel and your weight loss. Whew I am tired now!!!

Did someone say peanut butter? I just bought the peanut butter to go. Thought I would put them in my drawer at work for emergencies. I can eat less than a tablespoon and I am stuffed. I made some changes this week and cutting out the carbs was the big one. I am struggling to get in my protein but made the decision that protein before anything else.

I am like a whino with the booze when it comes to peanut butter. If I bought the peanut butter in the single serving tubes I would eat them all in one day. PB has been my downfall from way back in the weight watchers days. It is not my friend I know this so I just admire it in the store as I stroll by it and remember our good days together in the past.

I am 9 days out of surgery and I feel the same way. What the hell did I do? I am so tired of living off jellos, popsicles, and broths. Furthermore, I just want a large iced tea and I want to gulp it down. lol
My biggest problem right now is the indigestion. I get it even after taking a sip of water and I just want it to go away!
And it hurts when I cook for my hubby and my son. The food smells and looks so good...

I've asked others who say carbs are non-esxistent in their diet how that is even possible. So far, I've not had a reply.
Except for the protein shakes mixed with water, everything has carbs.. milk has carbs, protein bars have carbs, cheese has carbs.. HOW does one even possibly eat with no carbs in their diet? I just don't get it. What is a typical day or two diet like?

My daily food intake consists of meats, eggs, cheese, and green veggies i.e green beans, asparagus, and broccoli. When I say carbs are non-existent I mean no I am not eating a bags of doritos in one sitting like I was 10 months ago, I am taking in very little carbs. I don't consume milk now, I don't eat protein bars. My typical day of eating is in my first sentence. I do think my doc is more regimented with his diet then some I have read about on here. And I am fine with that, I have come to not miss potatoes, pasta, and rice. Hope this helps Kel.
