I finally did it...
Ok, I took my nasty orange julius multivitamin, took my B12 and now all I need to do is take the disgustingly huge and chalky calcium chewables. I can't wait 'til my viactiv chewables come in the mail. Rappaport was kind enough to send me a sample of his citrus multis so I'm anticipating the arrival of those too.
I forced myself onto the treadmill and broke a record of 15 mins at a speed of 2.5. I broke a sweat but nothing I had to wipe away from my face or anything so I probably need to kick it up a little faster next time. I'm just proud that I lasted 15 mins. The last time I got on, I only lasted 5 mins..lol
I have a big bottle of nasty nectar protein, sitting in water, that I'm dreading and procrastinating on choking down. Ugh....baby steps. I really gotta figure out how to get protein in me. I need to go search some threads, I guess.
Thanks for your support Donna and everybody else!!!!
~M~
P.S. Is there anything I can take to slow down this hair loss? What about extra Biotin? Will my hair come back?

Hey there twin! What coffee drinks would you be referring to? The only one I've tried and can tolerate is Syntrax Nectar Cappucino.
As far as my hair goes...it's corkscrew curly so I lose a lot of it in the shower anyway, but I'm noticing more now, so Im getting nervous. And actually, you and I are about to complete our 10th full week, this week, so that's 2.5 months out so not that far from 3 mos. Thanks for the Omega 3 tip, I guess I'll be looking for some supplements. Isn't Biotin for hair and nails, though?

Good for you Mah!
15 mins is just great! Just think, you exercised 3 times more than the day before. Maybe today shoot for 20 mins. What I used to do when I was able to work out was set a small goal, then while I was exercising to my goal, I would 'spontaneously' decide to up my goal.
I am proud to hear you take responsibility for doing the things you need to do to be self loving and self caring. I am a poster child for what can happen if you don't do what you need to do, and I am happy to be able to prevent anyone from what I went through. If you want to hear some of the gory details, give me a call--it was an absolute trip.
But I have to say it again, I'm very proud of you! And you'll start feeling better and better, and that scale will move, Sweetie, promise!

I take biotin everyday and it has helped with my hairloss. Amanda is right on, the protein intake also helps decrease hairloss as well. You know I order my calcium from Bariatric Advantage they are chocolate calcium chews made with hersheys cocoa powder. They are a bit grainy, but have a good flavor. They have made a world of difference in my vitamin intake. I also take the flintstones childrens chewable multivitamins, two a day. This last bottle I got was the generic target brand and they have much better flavor. Girl you have got to get all of these supplements in you. They WILL make a world of difference in how you feel and how your body reacts to this surgery. Find what works for you, it isn't easy at first but I do promise it gets better.

Thanks for the encouragement, sdgrrl. I'll try and up my time to 20 mins today on the dreadmill...lol
Hey there Cassie! Thanks for checkin' in! I ordered some viactiv but found out that I shouldn't be eating anything that says "calcium carbonate" so when I run out of those I think I'll take your advice and order the B.A. calcium chewables. How much biotin should I be taking when I get a bottle? I know that there's biotin in our multis but I think I need something extra.
Amanda or anyone....
How much Omega 3 should I take?
Thanks,
~M~

I got my bottle of biotin at walmart for like 3 bucks or something. I take one a day 1000 mcg. Everyday in addition to what is in the multivitamin. The bariatric calcium I get from bariatricadvantage.com is a little more expensive but worth it for me if it gets me taking it everyday. If you want to pm me your address I will send you some samples like Rappaport did as well. Anything to get them in you girl. My doc and not told me if I ate seafood a few times a week then I would get in enough Omega 3 without having to take an extra supplement for that. I had all my labs done April 25th and they came back normal, so I just stick to my regimen. It has kind of become second nature at 10 months post op.

I need to start taking it though cause I dont eat fish... I need to make sure I am taking that damn calcium too.. I seem to forget that one... girl .. you have to remember I am alot taller than you ... and I chase around 4 kids all the time.... so I am up and at it from 5:30 am to 9 pm everyday......
want me to send you a kid for the summer to keep you busy ?
