yeah we all gain the water / fluid weight from the hospital.
I personally dont like water but i LOVE the crystal like Rasberry Ice or even the SF koolaids and girl let me tell ya you are NOT getting enough protein in just by "eating" you have got to drink it. I really love that SYNTRAX NECTAR its exactly like juice mixes like juice do a search on it and see the reviews totally worth it. And its 23g for 1 scoop I really have to emphasize that when people count up the cost of this surgery many times they forget to add in how much the vitamins and protein will cost (for the rest of your life) These things are NOT negotiable and you gotta get them girl. The protein is not only for "hair loss" but actual healing and your metabolism

Hey there "blessed",
Thanks for telling me about the Syntrax nectars...they look like they'd be good. The only thing I hate about protein shakes and drinks is that they're sooooo expensive! I wish we could get a sample of some of the flavors before we buy a $25.00 container, yanno? LuckyVitamin.com seems to be the cheapest at $24.29 but that's still pretty steep, especially when you want 2 or 3 different flavors. Then they want $5.95 for shipping. My next mission is to see if I can find this stuff at a local store and see if I can beat the online price.
You're right though...neither of us are getting enough protein and God knows we don't want to lose our hair!!! Girllll....I think I'd go into a SEVERE depression at that point!

You are in Atlanta, right? Go to a local supplement place. One of those places bodybuilders go. Tell the guy/girl there that you need good tasting protein mix. The suggestion about Nectar is true... I lived on that stuff! Early on, sometimes it was all I could keep down on the bad days. You need protein to stay healthy.
Hey, keep in mind, your glorious hair is going to thin too. Don't freak when you get in the shower and you notice that you've plugged the drain. Happens to all of us... BUT, if you get as much protein in as posible, it'll help that somewhat.

They all are sooo right about the protein I drank alot of carnation instant breakfast no sugar added you can get it at walmart the cheapest! As far as eating you need to make sure you're waiting in between bites it is hard because we are so used to eating fast and not used to that feeling if you do try to eat too fast or too much resulting in praying to the porcelain gods I totally have been there and now am trying to make sure I am getting in my protein because I'd drink all day. I most of the times don't have an appetite at all But like Godblessedme said try sugarfree koolaids or crystal light till you find one you love..there is also sugarfree tang and my newest love is sugarfree hawian punch Also there is a great list of protein shakes mixed with different things you can try under: Nutrition>recipes>proetein shakes, pudding, mouse recipes I tried the lemon crystal today and it was yummy might have another for a treat

Hey girls, thanks for checking in on me! My spirits are better than they were and I'm slowly but surely learning how to live with "what I've done"..lol
I lost 3 lbs over the weekend after a LONG slump so that has me a little happier as well. Danita is REALLY frustrated though....she hasn't lost a lb in WEEKS...she's even gained 2. She thinks her surgery didn't work..lol I keep telling her that it did work, that she's just hit a plateau. I'm running out of other motivating things to say to her so please feel free to help me out with what to say to her. Danita is afraid that she's going to end up like those people who get the surgery and don't ever lose more than 20-30 lbs and then it just stops. God I hope that doesn't happen to us...not after all we've gone through.
Anyway, we got the Nectar samples in the mail on Monday and I've tried the "Apple Ecstacy" and Danita has tried Cherry. I don't think I mixed it correctly because it was pretty nasty and Danita said the same thing about hers. The samples say "one serving" but I can get 2 scoops out of it so I'm not sure what's going on there. I guess the mix is meant to be thick like a shake? Because that's what I would end up with after only adding 8 ounces of water or milk. I think next time, I need to add the whole packet, add some crushed ice (as instructed) and maybe some fruit or milk. When I made it, I used half the sample (one scoop) and shook it up with water...YUCK! It was a watery, gritty, sour drink that I couldn't even finish. I had to add Splenda because it wasn't sweet at all, which I thought was strange.
Any mixing advice from you Nectar drinkers out there?
Thanks!
Mahealani

I do Nectar
Hi Mahealani,
I use the nectar protein everyday. I usually do 1 and a half scoops in about 25 to 30 ounces of water and add a packet of crystal light to it. I have had the fuzzy naval, crystal sky and road side lemonade and with those use a complimentary flavor of crystal light, like orange with fuzzy naval, raspberry lemonade with the roadside lemonade and usually a fruit prunch or strawberry with the crystal sky. Using more water makes it taste more like a juice drink, not so thick or gritty, and helps you get some of your fluids in. Hope this helps. I have read some of your posts and am glad to hear you are doing some better! Hang in there! It gets better! My thoughts are with you.
Amy~
