Donna from SD - you mean you had adhesions AFTER WLS? Was yours an open procedure or lap? And you had surgery a whole year after WLS? What did they think the adhesions were from? YIKES!!! you poor thing.

Donna,
Thanks for your comment and all that info. Comparing to what you have been through, Danita's issue is small and she already wishes she had never had the surgery. So how do you deal with that aspect of all you've gone through? Do you regret having the surgery now that you've had all these problems? Also, what can I say to her to keep her spirits up and help her not regret having the surgery, even though she's had this awful problem and may have more? Anyone can answer these questions, it does't have to be just Donna.
Thanks,

I'm so glad they found something! The squeaky wheel gets the oil--Danita is so lucky that you were persistent. Now I hope you two can get a little rest!
Talk to you soon, honey!

Glad they found what was wrong. I hope that you both mend well and won't look back at this awful time. M, it might take you a while to find a job but keep at it. My son graduated from college with a BS in chemistry in May and he just found a job, finally! Persistence will pay off for you. Hang in there.

Thank you all for your support and well-wishes.
Well, it's been a little over a week since Danita's latest surgery and she's still not back on track. She hardly eats and is in a lot of post-surgery pain, mainly at the incision sites (there are 4). She seems to be able to eat and drink without the previous pain but she's still not very comfortable doing it. I find myself having to force her to eat or drink. I think it's in her head that she's going to feel pain when she eats, therefore she has scared herself into not wanting to do it. I'm so stressed out. I just want her to get back to normal, but I don't know how to help her do that.
Danita is going back to work on Tuesday...keep your fingers crossed that it goes well...she's pretty worried about it.
Thanks again,

Well, Danita isn't doing well again. She actually asked me to take her back to the hospital a little while ago. So, I'm trying to calm her down so that we can avoid the hospital unless it's absolutely necessary.
She says that she feels "weird". She says she feels "drunk inside", hot and cold and like her head is spinning. She also has a weird metal or pennies taste in her mouth. She says she only feels good when she's in the shower or lying still in bed, with the fan blowing on her. Also, when she eats she can feel gas bubbling up below her belly button, where the problem was. Things just aren't right.
I have no idea what's going on, so I just put in a call to our surgeon's nurse. God I'm so sick of this crap happening to her. When is this going to stop? I'm worried sick that she's not going to feel "normal" again.

Hi Sweetie,
I feel badly for you and Danita. I went through tons of complications, too, and I sympathize with your worry and fear. I don't know what is going on with her, but it sounds icky and hard. I'm sure you're doing lots of research on her symptoms--what does the internet have to say about her symptoms? I wish you both some relief from this worry and pain. My thoughts and good wishes are with you both!

Hello all...
Just wanted to let you know that Danita is feeling much better now. One day she wanted to go to the hospital again and literally, the next day, she woke up feeling better. Eating is difficult but it's not as bad as it was...however I do hope that it gets better. She deserves to feel "normal" again. Thanks for everyone's cares and concerns, we appreciate it.
Love,
