Danita and I went to our 3-month appt. with the bariatrician today. It was pretty pointless as she had no answers to the questions I had. The only good thing that came out of it was that we got our blood drawn to test for vitamins and minerals and that she noticed that I "look" anemic. I've never been told that in my life. I believe she looked at my gums and that they must've looked a bit "off". I'm just guessing though, since she spent a little longer looking in my mouth. Anyway, she said she'd call us if our blood tests looked off at all.
Besides that..... DANITA HIT ONDERLAND TODAY!!! GO 'HEAD BABY!! I'M RIGHT BEHIND YA DARLIN'!!!

Are you for real? You totally got a white girls hair. In your before pic I was SURE it was a weave hehe. My niece is mixed too and she's got that beautiful caramel skin and gorgeous black curly white girl hair. She thanks God every day she doesn't have to work as hard as her friends with her hair lol

I know how all of you are feeling ...... im having the same probs with hair loss ..... Talked to my dr the other day... I was told normally about 6 months out that it would eventually stop falling out ..... and was told the same things about the thyroid prob , vits and prot...... they also said stress could be one major reason if you have any on it still coming out .... mine has slowed down some but still freaks me out to get in the shower and watch my hair go down the drain .. lol but just hang in there and if you are taking everything you need then you will be fine .. give it time

Take care

ok, well I have been reading this thread for the last two hours. It is nice to see a thread that last that long. I had my surgery 3/10/08 and last week my hair started falling out. And although I probably don't get all my protien in I do take 5000 worth of biotin daily. Didn't help.

After reading all your post I am going to try real hard to giveup bad carbs. I do love my fruit and try to have at least one nectorine or plum daily. love them and wont give them up. I guess my feeling about food is I have dieted f sense I was 17 and I am so fed up with dieting and measuring and being worried all the time. So I make normal meals with meat, pasta, vegies, salad and have little of everythingl I don't eat much at all. But after all your wisdom I think now I had better start taking out all the bad carbs, mainly because i need to eat more protein.

I do love my protien shakes. I have found Jay Robb whey protien in vanilla and it is great. I blend mine with water, frozen fruit (1/2cup) and a splenda packet. I haven't been doing this to much because I hate the clean up but you know what I am worth it andd tomorrow I am taking out the blender.

I am so glad I had this surgery although I have had some complication nothing compared to the problems before.
I am one of those bad people who do not excercise much but I am on the go all the time and garden, vacuum, and clean and just got off my big fat Ass and started moving.

I started my journey at 234 and am now 177 and I can still see room for improving my habits but remember girls we are batteling years and years of bad habits and it will take time to get it all right. Now I think sometimes we need to pat ourselves on the back and congratulate ourselves for coming this far. There are many success in this forum and great things happen to good people all the time. We are good and we will be one of these people who good things will happen to. It just takes time.
God Bless to all of you who have taken this huge step andd you know what? You are worth it.
