Kel-
I don't know what is up with the dizziness, etc. Have been pretty out of it for a few weeks, on the road solo w my kids. I hope you are seeing your doctor and trying to get it resolved. Take care and say hello to the cows for me. We moved south from Maine and had a big fair in our town each September. Will miss those...

the dizziness is worse today. I had originally thought it was my menere's but since the dizziness is not accompanied with the other common symptoms of that, I just don't know what is going on.
I have not, and cannot see a doctor. I don't have the means to get to massachusetts to see one, and even though I pay 500/month for cobra it is for bcbsMA and they won't let me see a doctor here in Northern VT. So, here I sit, wondering what is wrong with me.
I have company today and am supposed to drive her home, over the mountain tomorrow am and I don't know how I will manage.
I'm scared of what is wrong with me.

I think it is valid to be scared. I know there is no money for care but you can't just wish it away. Are there any clinics in your area? Hospitals treat folks regardless of income, don't they? They will let you pay on a payment plan.
It doesnt sound as though the $500 COBRA is doing much good if you can't use it except in MA. Is it only a catastrophic plan? Worried for you. Wish you could figure something out. Don't be afraid to call your social services office to see what can be available. Hang in there.

No, it is your regular ol' blue cross plan... but it does not transfer from state to state. If you have bcbs in one state does not mean you can get a pcp in another state.
I've even had the VP of blue cross look into this for me and it is how they all work. The co. I worked for was a MA company and their ins. was bcbs of ma and so that is my cobra plan.
If I didn't live here and was on vacation, they would tell me to just go to my local hospital and get treatment.
Since I live here they tell me I cannot use the hospital for my pcp and need to go to a doctor in MA which are the doctors contracted by their company to do business with their insured.
I pay the cobra so I do not lose continuation of coverage when I get a job here in VT so no 2 year waiting periods.

Sweetie, I have no idea what you are talking about "drama llama". But, no one has the right to make you feel less than you are. You my dear are a warm, wonderful, loving, understanding, caring, and compassionate woman and don’t let anyone ever tell you any different.
Always remember that those that put us down usually do so because they are either jealous or their lives are so pathetic they can only feel better when they drag someone else down.
I am so sorry you are not feeling well but, I agree with the others you need to get to the doc. If I have to come get you and bring you back to MA I will. I'll grab Duckie on my way out of town too and you'll be hog tied and brought back here. And NO, you will not enjoy being tied up.
Love ya girlie

Kelly--can you be covered under your spouse's policy? If not contact the hospitals near you--I manage 3 of our clinics and we have health care help on a sliding scale--they may have something similar.

Hi there.. I really do appreciate the concern you all have for me, and some days I worry more than others.
I'm kind of scared and worried when I first get up out of bed in the am, or when I first lay down at night as those are the times when the dizziness is the worst. After doing research and whatnot, I'm pretty sure that this is an inner ear thing cuz once I'm up and about, it seems to settle down for the most part.
As for the insurance thing- it was almost 300 more a month to go on my hubby's plan, since he works for a very, very small company and the plan they have pays just 200 towards the plan, regardless of whether he chooses a single plan or a family plan.
We didn't think it would be this long with me not having a job so we didn't expect that we'd be paying this much or having to deal with the "inconvenience".<----understatement!

Well, hopefully it's just a wax build up thing. But, you really need to get yourself better ya know. If you have a CVS near you that has the new minute clinic thing you might want to check that out. Hubby was havin a problem with his ear and we went in there. It cost $60.00 for the visit and our co-pay for the scrip.
